You ain't see nothing Rat.

Try riding through North Dakota this time of year, sun up or sun down.

Yeah, but that was only about 75 miles.

And with Joe Rocket mesh gear on...I feel like a freakin' pincushion! Little bastards go right through the mesh!

I rode from Albany to Binghamton, NY last weekend to meet some friends for an all day ride. I had to pull into a gas station just miles from my destination, not because I needed fuel, but because I couldn't see because the mosquitos had coated both my visor AND headlight. I couldn't see anything.

Big babies.

It's cicada season here in the south. Every 13 years, these juicy bastards come out to breed. When you hit one, it's like hitting a rock with wings. The males leave a half dollar sized splatter mark that smells like bleach. Hit a female, and it's easily a silver dollar sized splooge splatter.

They are full of cicada jizz and eggs.

We had that two years ago FT. Sucked but was short lived and our birds made short work of them since there were less than normal due to alot of construction over the last decade.

Early summer we get lake flies up here. They don't sting or anything just are around for about 2-3weeks and then die. At dusk they swarm over the warm roads. Take Joe's helmet above and cover the whole center part. 2years ago it was so bad I had to stop every 10min to clean my shield because I couldn't see. Glad this year was a down year.

Ft_, THAT is disgusting, mostly because I know what you're talking about. The buggars seem smaller this time around, but I've NEVER seen so many. If I didn't know better, I'd think this was one of those biblical omens.
