I think he's doing a great job, and I cheer for anyone in the US with the determination to build and sell sportbikes but... I have 0 interest in an 80 HP V-Twin. Bike looks great, and sounds great! I bet it's a joy to ride also. I think I'll wait a little longer to see what Erik releases.
I think the Fischer MRX has been around for almost 6 years. It is nice to look at, but doesn't seem like it is catching on at all. Give Erik 6 years, and we had the FULL XB range.
I stopped by the assembly facility in Pocomoke City, Maryland a few years ago. There wasn't much to see. Crates and crates of components not being assembled....
I saw one in Indianapolis when I went to the Moto GP in 2009. Wasn't a Hyosung entered in the eight hours of Daytona a couple of years ago? From what I remember, it didn't finish the race.
>>>So do you call a Bimota with a Suzuki engine 'Italian'?
Sure . . .just like a Ducati with shocks made by Kenth Öhlin is Swedish . . . oh, but wait . . .Yamaha, since 1987, had owned 50% of the company so it'd be kinda Ital-Japa-edish . . but then Kenth bought back enough to get him 95% last year . . making it . . oh wait . . they opened a plant in Hendersonville, NC . . so what the heck is it?
Trying to summarily declare any motorcycle as strictly AMERICAN, ITALIAN or JAPANESE is about as fruitful as trying to cubby hole the citizens of this great land.
It's a fool's errand. . . with an eager Internet population waiting to play . . .
