My stepson's ex-wife's aunt's ex-husband's brother is Tom Cruise's pilot.

We don't spend much time together, though.

This is a stretch for the family link, but what the heck. My daughter's best friend's boyfriend ( told you it is stretch) works for a major airline reservicing the jets between flights. He was talking to the crew of a winter weather-delayed flight late one night in Syracuse(passengers missed their connection to NYC) when someone came up behind him and said "Kid, what kind of car do you drive?" He had a newer Ford Explorer. Cutting to the chase, it was George Clooney - who offered him $500 to drive him and Brad Pitt to NYC in order to make a PR event for a Pitt-Jolie film (Mr and Mrs Smith I think). He clocked out and drove the two into the city. Pitt gave him his suite in a swank NYC hotel that night as Pitt spent the night with Jolie (before their "affair" was public knowledge). They let him take a couple pics with them but not with Angelina. So close........

As for me, when I went to college I was on the Student Board that brought in concerts, speakers, etc. Got to meet Harold Wilson (former British PM, had a small group dinners with Vincent Bugliosi (prosecuted Manson), Mel Blanc on another occasion, and drove Chris Miller ( co-wrote the Animal House screenplay) from the Dayton airport to the University in a University-owned lime green Chevy Vega. Miller opted for the back seat. Also drove Bugliosi with another Student Board member who was pre-law. Bugliosi was very down to earth and amicably helped the other kid do all his constitutional law class case studies. Miller just wanted to score some herb to get ready for his presentation. Blanc was a charmer with the ladies, including the Dean's wife, but one-to-one with me he was a miserable old racist. But when the lights went up he could really put on a show.

My wife's cousin was Robbie Buck of '10,000 Maniac's' fame. He was their lead guitarist and wrote or co-wrote many of their songs.

When I spoke with him at a family reunion I asked what his favorite gigs were. He said 'Saturday Night Live' was the best. When he died of having killed his liver with alcohol, he had a hell of a collection of guitars.

My great grandfather purchased a car that was seized from Al Capone. He found secret compartments including one under the drivers seat that contained a pistol another under the trunk that had room for alcohol. He owned it for 3 months when the Feds showed up and bought him a new car. He turned over the pistol unfortunately in fear of what would happen if they found it some day. My grandpa has photos somewhere of the car and the pistol in it's hiding spot. Thing was fast for the times.

I'm not aware of genetic lineage to fame in my family - my mother's mother's father (maternal great maternal grandfather???) owned a HUGE slate mine in eastern PA, I was able to see what was left and grab a couple slate shingles just laying in piles. Pretty sure it's all housing now. There was a TON of money in the family, but I believe it's all gone at this point. There was a great uncle or some sort in Florida that died a few years ago, I never met, and left a lot of money to my grandmother, and some of that made its way to me. I'm told that was the last "rich" relative.

My father was a radio DJ in college and a little after - the two most notable stories was him hanging out with Journey back stage before they were really big, and going to watch '2001: A Space Odyssey' with Supertramp. He tried telling me he'd never smoked pot before, lol.

I'm a direct descendant of Adam & Eve and also Noah & his fine wife.

I once mistook Bobby Knight for my uncle. Funny story. Poor guy.

I am married to a Princess!

And I consider the Queen of the Universe to be a good friend.

My existence on this earth is directly attributed to 2 of the finest folks to ever grace this world(mine anyway). They weren't famous but were superstars to me.
As a matter of fact, if I could spend time with anyone in the world passed or living...it would still be my Mom. Superior being, she was. I can't imagine receiving a fraction of the love and admiration that I had for her. I wish she were still here so I could show her how much I love her.
She was just my Mom and I adore(d) her.
'Famous' people I have met don't compare.

Blake, you consider correctly, my friend. Even when you are hard headed... ; )

My sister is the makeup person for Cortney Cox and lots of others.
She's done TONS of movies and such (Spider Man, Oceans 11, 12, etc..).
Did Stings wife's make up for the last few red carpet appearances.

She's got great off the record stories (none of Courtney, really!).

She once worked for Larry the Cable Guy and didn't even know who he was! She was really disarmed after working with him and getting him ready for a shoot, going on set for the walk through then having the director say "OK, now do it as Larry the Cable Guy".
He totally changed personality and confused the heck out of her. She didn't know if she should hate him or not (she's from CA and almost falls on her left side when she stands....).

Family history says on my mother's mother’s side, I am a direct blood descendant of John Brown, the abolitionist. It would explain a lot about me.

On my mother’s father’s side I am a Mayflower descendant.

All I know of my father’s side is that his mother’s family came to the colonies in 1752 from Germany.

My ex-wife is a decendant of Matthew Vassar, founder of Vassar College.

Never really met anyone famous yet and don’t think it would impress me much.

I'm somehow related to the 22nd and 24th presidents.. both of them Grover Cleveland. ; )
Sadly, I'm not sure how our "branches" connect past my mother's mother's mother. (great-grandmother)

Dad worked in the east wing of the White House during the Reagan and Bush Sr. administrations.
