I just watched the documentary on that cult and the lead guy is full of hate and then they had the Patriot guard showing them how they take their Harleys and and point the end of their bikes toward the protesters they were really effecting the demonstrators. Sure would be nice if every other Baptist Church out there were able to sue to prevent them the use of the word "Baptist" for that Satanic, devil-worshipping cult this bastard runs. It stains the entire religion (in my view) when these whackos do what they do under the "Baptist" banner. I'm not a Baptist but I WAS raised a Christian... and what these guys practice has absolutely no bearing on ANY Christian teaching to which I've been exposed. The existence of these creeps is just one thing that makes me question religion in general. If there truly WAS a just God in heaven, this "church" would've been obliterated YEARS ago by lightning and meteor strikes while it was full of practitioners. | ||

It has to be PC now.  People gotta start thinking... like.. I just saw a couple situations were a bunch protesters blocked a semi, that was delivering military supplies.. they made a human chain and blocked the delivery. And then a bunch of timber workers were delayed by some other protesters. Look on You tube and see how some of these new-age protesters are protesting and blocking everything from little people to big corporations. Shouldnt be too hard to make a human chain around the WBC van. I would like to make a note though. I do believe the WBC should be allowed to protest anywhere, anything and anytime EXCEPT: Anywhere within 5,000 yards of a cemetery, funeral, funeral procession, or anywhere near any family members of the deceased. Or accept outrageous fines and/or jailtime. Especially if it is a person who served in the military or in any public office. | ||

Westboro is neither a Baptist church nor a cult. It is a money making scam. Why WOULDN'T they protest at the funeral of a 9 year old shooting victim? All the world's eyes are going to be on this funeral. It's the equivalent of advertising during the Superbowl or during the final game of the World Series. The goal is two fold. First, create an abhorrent display likely to create a personally violent or personal property destructive process. Second, get the act on film with the intent to prosecute for monetary judgment. It's a free speech financial shakedown. The secondary benefit of protesting a high profile funeral is that you incite even greater response at the next event. You might not take the time to confront them until this protest or that hits your hot button. The best outcome to deal with them is nothing. No physical attack. No property damage. Nothing. It costs money for them to travel. If there is no settlement, they slowly bleed to death. This is a full time job for these folks. It's no different than professional "protesters" hired by leftist groups. Phelps will be dead soon. Westboro will fade away following his death. | ||

I grew up with these nut cases, in Westboro, and you can not begin to believe how over the edge they are. I am thrilled to see folks coming from around the world to insulate this poor young girls family from these terrible people. I've given serious thought to a quick trip to Tucson. P.S. - If won't do much to help but I have a dear friend who, as part of a scavenger hunt that got a bit out of hand . . who got into the shed they store their signs in and "borrowed" one. | ||

a human chain of protesters literally blocking the protesters from going anywhere is non-violent. people have done this for less meaningful reasons. Or maybe...someone can try and spread love by hugging them at the protest site. Random sporadic hugging... to another human being.... ignoring them will do nothing except bring distress to those they protest. at least till the leader dies... 2-4-8 10 years from now?? Then the remaining may still go on. I don't see that as a solution at all. | ||
