I didn't think any of these were still around.

These were listing for around $800 just about the time H-D decided to stop selling race parts. I want to say that was spring of '06. Turns out, I ended up getting one of the last ones available from the dealer network.

I got my polished race exhaust for $30.00 used in good shape. But that was the right place at the right time

Doesn't say if it is for a nine or with a valve for a twelve. I guess it would still work on either.

I bought one of these new for my former City-X at around $800 in 2005. I don't see this being too far out of line for what it is.

No valve on the XB12 model race can - you get a race chip with the package - denoid included.

My first track session during the Buell 1125 roll-out track day world tour (which was too much fun and the reason I ended up getting the 1125 - Sooo much faster than the XB with my big butt on there). Race can as shown - the entire can and tips are the same 'color' and level of polish. It looks like the item for sale is the identical race can as was available at the end of the production run. At the time they would work for either 9 or 12 - same unit for both. It may have changed over the years, not sure.

Like them non-legal H-D jacket and REAL biker boots?

A complete rip off. These were never that good to start with and rusted away like a North Korean battleship at the first sign of rain. For $1000+ there are much better pipes available now from a variety of sources.

Mind you, he is obviously a friend of 'Eric' so must be genuine..............ha ha

The reason they're going for so much is that it's a Buell item.
The price of them went up after they quit making the Pro stuff.
I guess it's only going to go up now that Buell is no longer.
I've tried several pipes, this is my favorite of all I've tried, mainly because it's not as loud as all the others offered in the US.
The Erik Buell Racing race ECM for the Buell pipe is amazing.

The original XB9 'race kit' such as this one gave an increase in power over stock of around 3bhp (depending upon which dyno you used). Hardly worth $1000+. . The term 'race kit' was a bit of a misnomer anyway as very few people actually used these for racing. It was essentially a loud slip on mild steel street pipe with an ECU that made the bike run richer throughout the rev range. They are rare now because I think most of the early ones have rusted through by now : (

Don't confuse it with an Erik Buell Racing race ECU because it really isn't anything like it.

Dealers were virtually giving these kits away in the UK just before they were withdrawn from sale : (
