Just assume a 7 paragraph rant on that website.  It is often regretted that freedom of speech means you have to let Nazi jerkwads say hateful crap. Tough to be free sometimes. Prefer it to the alternative. I haven't read the charges, so Won't get into that he should not be in jail for a poem. I already don't like him enough I almost don't care. | ||

I already don't like him enough I almost don't care. If you don't care for this guy then you don't care for anyone. I don't like him, either, and the poem has a lot of grey area regarding being a threat to Obama's life or just an abstract thought. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. | ||

I hate having to come forward to defend trash, but this is one of those cases. It's been over three years since the poem was posted. Suddenly it represents a real threat? I say fund this idiot with NEA money and call it a day. The NEA funds "art" that is equally vile every year claiming that you can't judge art that way. | ||

Who was President when this poem was posted in August 2007? Of course NewsWeek did regularly print political cartoons that had the president looking like a monkey back then.

More of a slam on the pigs. As the farmers were just being farmers. Not that in the connotation were the farmers portrayed as good. After the "Bible" and "Pilgrim's Progress", "Animal Farm" is the third book I highly recommend. It used to be required reading prior to my school years. Only reading that I liked in high school was Johnathan Swift's "A Modest Proposal" which is only understood with a lesson about the history he lived in. He also authored "Gulliver's Travels". That book is often read by children that see the fairy tale qualities with in it but do not have enough experience to fully explore its ramifications. Kind of a sad failure in that most of the kids will never go back and explore the book at an older age, as they have dismissed it as a fairy tale. | ||

Of course the idiot was writing about Obama. What I don't understand is why race even begins to play a role in anyones mind in this situation?
