I find it interesting that this was "NEWS". However, I'm not surprised. Yeah, I know. With everything else in the world that's going on, and THIS is what the networks are burning up the airwaves with. I'm a little dissapointed at what many folks "feel is worth sharing." I have had some hard knocks, and I've SHARED my story with everyone, knowing some would judge me for it. I did it to benefit others, so that if even one person can avoid what happened to me, it's worth it. My pride is not an issue here. Hypocrisy at best. How am I a hypocrite? I put myself out there for all to see. I am allowed my opinions, just like you are. If you asked those two what kind of work they do, I bet the answers would be all over the place. That could be the follow up news story. (HOA? Hard to reconcile that with your other life philosophy statements.) Yes, HOA. That stands for Home Owner's Association. They charge me money so they can tell me what to do at my own house. I'm glad of it, because they tell my neighbors what to do also, so that my yard looks like this:  and not like this:  But I got the picture. Yes, I get the picture too. You're clearly the type of person with deep personal issues he hasn't come to terms with, so you like to spout words like "racist" at others after not thoroughly considering what has been said, much less the context in which it was said. As I sit here, in the front seat of my car, 85 miles from home, having just been in a sales meeting from 7:15am to 8:00am, posting this from my Droid, I have some free time to rebut your ignorance. I got up at 4:00am and made breakfast, went for a quick run, showered, shaved my head and face, put on my Italian shoes, tailored pants and shirt, silk tie, my dad's gold tie pin for good luck and finished it off with a smile. Left the house at 5:40am, arrived here at 7:00am sharp... 15 minutes early... gave a powerpoint presentation of Landstar's heavy haul capabilities and met with a CEO, CFO and VP of Logistics. I may or may not have landed some more work for myself. Next, I'm driving up to my girlfriend's job, picking up her van and taking it in for a tire rotation and alignment, because she doesn't have time in her schedule for it. When the van is done, I'll go take her to lunch, putting some money into the local economy. The waitresses and bartenders at Old Towne Tavern in Suwanee give great service, and depend on tips from people like me to help pay their bills. 2 years, 11 months, 20 days ago, I was released from prison. Just look at me now. I'm doing all right. I am not only permitted, but ENTITLED to make observations about the world around me. Being locked up gives one a perspective on the human condition that not everybody has. I share that perspective with others. Now, since you pay such close attention to me, you will have noticed that all this time I still have not called these two individuals' race into the discussion. I have poked fun at myself, but not at them. I have only pointed out the obvious, that they appear to be unemployed, and have a house. THEREFORE I conclude that some form of public assistance must be in effect here. Now, if you'll excuse me, others are depending on me to get things done for them. I can hardly post this way while I'm driving, so I'll check back in here from the tire shop while I'm waiting for my girlfriend's van. Maybe Zeke and Kerry will be awake by that time. Authorities found him hidden in a mobile home while armed with a butcher knife, Thomas Eugene Justice, 41, Squirrel Run Road, is currently in the Blount County Detention Facility, Blount County Sheriff James Berrong said Wednesday. He is charged with felony evading arrest and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer. Bond amounts and court dates have not yet been set. Early Wednesday morning, Justice allegedly stole a van belonging to Cherokee Distributing Company of Knoxville from a business on East Lincoln Road in Alcoa. Around noon Wednesday, the van was spotted traveling on U.S. 411 South and several Sheriff's Office patrol units responded to the area. A deputy attempted to stop the van on U.S. 411 South. As the deputy approached the vehicle, Justice, who was driving the van, sped off and almost struck the deputy as she approached the vehicle. A short time later, Justice allegedly attempted to strike another deputy during the pursuit. A search was initiated in the south end of the county, and with the help of witnesses, the stolen vehicle was located in Squirrel Run Trailer Park. Justice was located shortly after 12:30 p.m., hiding in a mobile home in the trailer park. When deputies found him, he was armed with a butcher knife. Authorities took him custody and transported to the Blount County Detention Facility. Blount County and Alcoa authorities are brought felony charges against Justice. Damnut, Of course I broke the law. In my particular case the arresting officer lied about HOW I broke it. That single act snowballed into many other travesties of the law which were perpetrated against me. I lost an entire extra year of income and many thousands in personal property as a result. I admitted what I did, cooperated with the arresting officer and investigators, and still the legal system failed. I have never said I was framed or that my sentence was unfair. What was unfair is that they wanted me to serve 6 years and take 2 strikes for a first offence. What's unfair right now is idiots who can't read calling me a racist. | ||

(Never mind the innocence and the lying cop your lawyer couldn't discount, that's all part of the deal.) However, anyway you want to justify it, your observations and conclusions are really shaky. And your sense of entitlement, to judge others based on what?, is pretty scary. Don't ask me to respect that. This was not a video you put up to make fun of yourself, was it? Somehow you could see it reinforcing your stereotypes and you ran with it. HOA: you follow "he governs best who governs least", but you put yourself under yet another authority that also dictates their arbitrary rules to others. Which you also say you detest. We did in fact prove in court that the arresting officer lied about me having a loaded gun concealed on my person. It took 7 months, but that's how it went down. If they had just charged me with what I had actually done, we'd have been in court for 2 days. Arraignment and sentencing. I actually like the HOA rules. The rules are hardly arbitrary. When you buy the house, you AGREE IN WRITING to follow the rules. What I detest are politicians telling me to wear seatbelts, helmets, no talking on the phone, etc. while taxing me for programs I didn't vote for, and were part of legislation packages they didn't even read. I earned it by being a good father, providing guidance and lessons based on my own experiences in life, good and bad. Nothing harder than having your sons see you in a prison jumpsuit through 4 inches of plexiglas. They are 21 and 23 now, both work full time and go to college. I've been reading this thread and never saw race brought up anywhere but by those who shouted "racism". Since when is welfare about race. I've known many people of many different ethnicities or cultural backgrounds on welfare when they needed it. The only thing that angers me about as much as racism, is this concept that racism is just a one way street. The news station obviously wanted to liven up their story with two colorful characters.
