Firearms are only good if you are there to use them, and if you are really willing to kill someone. That's the question you really need to ask yourself and your wife, is she really able to kill someone? If not just holding the thing hoping it will scare someone off will probably get her shot with her own gun!

That's a good point! She might not be able to pull that trigger if needed.

I'm not sure my wife would either. I've never been in that tight of a spot, but if someone is in my house I'm pretty damn sure I'd reduce the rounds in my clip real fast!

We use a local alarm co and have no problems.
( Smith Thompson ). Every time we've goofed and set the alarm off they have called pretty quickly.
Luckily no serious alarms.

Something my mother-in-law told me a while back...

"When seconds count, the cops are minutes away"

will be waiting to hear what pammy's guy has to say today when he talks to blasteey. as far as using a gun, that has always been one reason why i would never get one. but i'm 53 now and hope i can use better judgement. as far as the wife go's, i'm sure if she felt threatended in her own home, even by me, she wouldn't hesitate to use it. and that's just my opinion after being married to her for over 28 years.

i got a joke in an e-mail that goes with this "When seconds count, the cops are minutes away"

so a 75 year old man calls the police and says, "there are some people trying to break into my garage right now" dispatcher says, "i'm sorry sir, all of our units are busy at the moment, we will send someone as soon as we can"

guy hangs up, waits 5 minuets and calls back and says, "i called before about the people breaking in, i just shot and killed them"

in no time at all his yard is filled with cops and an ambulance, the fist cop on scene arrests the burglars and goes to the old man and says, "i thought you said you killed them" and the old man replies, "i thought you said you all were busy"

Pammy,

Funny to us, but not the purse snatcher. He likely still suffers severe psychological trauma from the blond lightning which struck him down. : D
