perhaps its time everyone quits being such pussies! it happens. could have just as easily happened sitting at home eating breakfast and choking on a cheerio. yes i know id be upset if my daughter died, but if she died doing something she loved then what more can you ask. there are worse ways. Life is hard, dangerous, cruel, unfair, and sometimes tragic. If you work hard and are a little lucky, you get to carve out a chunk of it that brings you joy. Attempting to insulate others from the harshness that comes with life cripples those you seek to protect. Yep kids, sometimes people in the prime of their lives and the zenith of their own accomplishments are snuffed out. YOU ARE NOT IMMORTAL. The double standard reflects the bias of pastime acceptance. We don't like motorcycling and don't approve, so if someone dies doing it we MUST condemn the activity. Football is wholesome. | ||

FB -- I should've added: When I hear stories of professional motorcycle racers beating their wives and girlfriends, I'll believe football is wholesome. When a professional motorcycle racer is stopped at the airport for carrying an unlicensed handgun, I'll believe football is wholesome. The list goes on and on... |
