From the Charleston, SC Craigslist:

Dog For Sale: free to good home.

Excellent guard dog. Owner cannot afford to feed him anymore, as there are no more thieves, murderers, or molesters left in the neighborhood for him to eat.

HIS NAME IS - 'Holy Shit.'

I talk from experience, any Mastiff owner will back me on is this. You would hate to clean after that Puppy. The drool factor is incredible.

As much as I love the Mastiff breed there are just to many inherited problems from Allergie's to kidney problems to yes the hip's. I had Old English years ago. Loved the dog but had problems with health issue's. I now have a rare breed Mastiff. The South African Mastiff or as known in Africa as (Boerboel). They are a power house. Very active, very muscular and it shows, and the strongest feature PROTECTIVE. Not suited for anyone that is not familiar with training head strong dog's. I have actually 2 of the less then a dozen in Wisconsin.

i miss my english mastiff Kilo : ( had to part ways with him during my divorce years ago. he was a moose! yes very protective, but mostly a gentle giant. had this nervous twitch where his jaw would chatter around people he didnt know/trust. it scared the hell out of people. always thought he was getting ready to come after them. he really didnt have a big drool problem though so that was great!

with my last wolf Arctic having past away a couple months ago(after 12 or so years) im not looking for an animal currently, but i did tell jenn repeatedly over the years the only 2 i would consider would be another wolf or english mastiff (loved my rotts and huskies though)
