i have a tie at the top of my list of
French Market Cafe (New Orleans coffee with chickory) and Alto Grande from Puerto Rico ( PR has serious history with coffee and makes some great stuff in limited quantities)

I have a preference for Kenya beans. I get mine from either Whole Foods, where the beans are roasted in small batches on a weekly basis, or sometimes Starbucks.

Folgers Breakfast Blend. Four large scoops of grounds per pot of coffee. Makes my heart speed up just smelling it. I'll drink 3/4 of the 10 cups with no additives.

I can't stand Java. Yea its great that works cross platform, but there are so many other better alternatives like Flash and Mono. Java is bloated.

I really don't like coffee; However when the wife and I visit the in-laws in Germany I love the coffee. They must have some really different stuff there.

When in Nashville I head to Fido- their stuff is awsuum!! Plus, since it's smack dab between Belmont U and Vanderbilt U, LOTS of eye candy to enjoy also...

At home, the Kroger brand dark bean, whole, grind it up, 5 scoops, whole pot of good java juice. Cheap and good...

Folgers Coffee Singles Classic Decaf. One bag makes two outstanding cups of coffee. I just drop the bag in the kettle and bring to boil- fast, simple and easy.

The Beanery in San Francisco - 7th or 9th ave. - yes he owns two shops - with a StarBucks in between that gets little business - the guy selects, buys, and roasts his own beans, sells them as well, has about 20 varieties - his Sumatra Mandhiem and his Guatemalan Organic are just a wildly great cup of coffee. Muddy Waters has a good cup, Royal Grounds, And another personal favorite - Farley's Coffee - wild atmosphere with the SF Giants bar across the street, and over it The Golden Gun Detective Agency, laundry mat on one corner and a gourmet bakery on the other, and a convenience store on another - SFMC - 10 minutes away - what better way to hang out before the meetings - lol - magazines and local bands make Farleys the classic SF coffee shop.

Shenandoah Joes in Charlottesville, man has connections in Costa Rica and other places, buys the beans and carefully roasts them himself.

It's GREAT coffee, fresh roasted, cheaper than S-bucks.

Over the counter I like Seattle's Best, when it's on sale.

Otherwise, I would prefer Flash.

Mud Shark, a killer blend featuring Cuban beans, available from Osso Negro in Nelson B.C. Absolutely awesome, I have it sent out to Lethbridge and grind it fine just before brewing a pot. It has ruined me for anything else!

glad I had it overseas, it is significantly cheaper in theater.
Smooth brew, and probably the most sanitary thing in the market.

the peacock pebble coffee out of Hawaii is pretty good too

Community Coffee is a really nice brand/blend, especially if you get the whole beans and grind your self.

When in Nashville give Bongo Java's a try. They really became an ace roaster and I loved smelling the beans roasting from a few miles away and then stopping in to get a cup of joe with espresso in it.

Most parts of Colorado are very rural and I haven't really found something here I like a lot. I'm sure there is some wanna be roaster in the greater Denver area, but I avoid that place as much as possible.

And I agree with Froggy, Java is very bloated... and so very 1990's.
