It's peculiar among the wllfully ignorant to claim mere difference of opinion when in fact their "opinion"--see Doug's above re Christianity vs Islamism & Beck rally vs Islamists--are blatantly proveably false and baseless.

Such unwaivering staunch defense of falshood is only sustainable through deeply seated intellectual dishonesty, willfull ignorance, or rampant self-delusion.

...but only because it is an organized religion that believes in conwerting others to its faith.

Gee, that's the only part of Islam I don't find threatening. If you mean converting. And converting by example and appeals to morality and reasoned argument.

The Organized part bothers me a bit, I admit....but I have to include most religions, and I've just come to distrust the motives of the leaders of any faith. After all, they became leaders, showing an ambition out of line with humility.

What bothers me about Islam, is that I'm a liberal womens libber. Male, non doormat, door holding, self confident subset. I prefer women as partners in the trials of life, not slaves, property, etc. While I feel an obligation to protect the weak, an ideal mate would only need protection while reloading. Just courtesy, you know.

Sharia law is the antithesis of my beliefs. Ok, so are some other faiths teachings, but I haven't had much trouble with Jesuists beheading people who disagree on the nature of the Trinity lately.

A faith that wants to destroy western civilization, ( such as it is ) and substitute submission to a set of rules that has such twists as killing a women who has been raped by murderous torture ( stoning ) or allows the gang rape of a mans sister for a "crime" he did, as "justice" can kiss my shiny metal ass.

I note that crap like this is rare, and firmly & promptly punished in my nation.
http://www.democratandchronicle.com/article/201008 31/NEWS01/100831015/1003/5-Holley-teens-arrested-a fter-incident-at-mosque

In Afghanistan the "students" of a faith, the Talib, throw acid into a little girls face for the hideous crime of going to school. They claim to be muslims. They also claim all should be like them and the world should be like that and will kill everyone who resists.

Sort of like the progressives true motives and feelings.... ok, a little less acid in children's faces. A little.

And once again you are dishonest as I've never used such an inane tactic (claiming mere difference of opinion) in any debate/discusion where facts reveal an error in my position. In fact I'm not sure I've ever used such a claim in any discussion for any reason.

So now you are once again caught and once again you will fail to acknowledge fact.

You are not honest; fail thougtful/respectful debate, and are obviously trolling.

Time for you to depart this forum Doug.

I hope someday you'll learn about and embrace integrity and honor for yourself.

Bye-bye.

Saudi is a awesome place. Its the only place Ive lived outside of Afghanistan where they openly kill people for violating dee laws. Watched a few folks get tossed off a 7 building for adultry. Saw people chained to the ground in a prison. In prison there you dont eat or drink unless the family brings it to you. After the last day of Ramadan there was massive weapons fire in the prison. The next day all the inmates were gone. The same prison that was across the street from where Saudis trucked bombed the USAF barrack in Khobar. The same place I watched people get beat for not closing shop for prayer time. The same country where they hire TCNs to work and then they take away the passports they had. The same friendly nation where the crime of displying any religion outside of Islam is punisable by a stick shoved up your ass. Where women dont speak and walk behind the man covered up. Where they medically amputate limbs for crimes and they behead for murder. Theres a Saudi judge in the news now for asking a hospital to surgically seperate a mans spine as punisment for when he stabbed someone making him a crippled.

I just received this from a fellow Badwebber and unfortunately it is true.
-----------------------------

How interesting. It seems that the U.S. Department of Justice changed their website yesterday. Gone are the colorful red, white and blue patriotic U.S. flag decorations on the page, to be replaced by stark black and white. And at the top of the page is an interesting quote: "The common law is the will of mankind, issuing from the life of the people."

Catchy, huh? Just one tiny little (too small to be relevant obviously) point . . . the quote is from C. Wilfred Jenks, who in the 1930's was a leading proponent of the "international law" movement, which had as its goal to impose a global common law and which backed 'global workers' rights.'

Call it Marxism, call it Progressivism, call it Socialism, call it Obamaism - under any of those names it definitely makes the DOJ look corrupt in their sleek, new black website with Marxist accessories to match.

"The common law is the will of mankind issuing from the life of the people, framed through mutual confidence, sanctioned by the light of reason."

Inscribed on the outside of the DOJ building, finished in the 1930s. I can't find anything linking this quote to Jenks. He would have been in his twenties when the quote was chosen. Not a likely story, IMHO. The possible attribution to Sir William Blackstone (18th century English common law jurist & professor) is much more plausible.

The DOJ website was updated in Oct. 2009, not "yesterday."

Be careful about posting "dishonest" material on this forum. It might get you banned.

The U.S. operates under a common law system and has since the very founding. Common law means "case law", stare decisis, precedent set by court rulings. And yes, that means judges legislate from the bench and they always have. Common law has nothing to do with international law, or Marxism, or Progressivism, or Socialism, or Obamaism. Thinking that it does is Beckism, the dumbing down of America.

Yes! Do be careful about posting dishonest material. Did you really look to see if it is attributed to Jenks? I did a google search on the quote and there's plenty of sites that attribute it to Jenks, right at the top of the first page. I'd be curious how you did a search and fount "nothing". Nothing???

Just for reference here's an archive of what the DOJ site used to look like...

I really have no dog in this fight, but I do get a bit tired of the claim of "I can't find anything..." only to find that the person making that claim clearly had their eyes closed.

Please, Obamaism? heck we already have Obamacare. Obama has nothing new, despite his triumph as a ground breaking case of white conservative Americans voting for a guy based on his promises, not the color of his skin. ( that his promises to them were lies, but his promises to his communist buddies are gospel, has nothing to diminish that achievement.)

The DOJ's use of that quote probably should fill you with terror though.

Nope, it doesn't. I know what "common law" means. It's not scary. It's part of our system of law and always has been. It goes back to the Magna Carta. There is absolutely no reason for me to be filled with terror.

I believe the line is that Jenks's beliefs were marxist. What has Beck done to make you dumber?

Beck has done nothing to me but he has done a number on you. You're doing the Beck blackboard thing. You're putting a bunch of unrelated things on the blackboard and connecting them together in a misinformed way to make them into something that they're not. Sorry, but I'm not dumb enough to fall for that.

That's very interesting. The American Spectator article says, "Prominent now on the site are links to "Justice.gov en Español" and the "The Recovery Act and the Department of Justice." Guess what link was prominent on the old site? Yep, that's right. "DOJ en Español"! What do you think the change from "DOJ" to "Justice.gov" in the link means? Glenn Beck would say it can only mean one thing: Marxists and Islamic terrorists have taken over the DOJ and that spells the end of America as we know it. Me? I'm not sure why it was changed from "DOJ" to "Justice.gov" but I'd be a little skeptical about Beck's conclusion.

I use "Glenn Beck" as a metaphor for the "liberal media" and their attempt to dumb down America. It doesn't mean Glenn Beck the man or the Glenn Beck show in particular. "Glenn Beck" tries to dumb us down and get us to be terrified of our own country and our own fellow citizens. The whole thing about the common law quote on the DOJ web site is classic "Glenn Beck". I intend to learn and know the truth about my country in spite of "Glenn Beck".

Governors of 35 states have already filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon them. It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention.

This will take less than thirty seconds to read. If you agree, please pass it on.

For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress. Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws. The latest was to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform ... In all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn't seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law.

I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop.

A Constitutional Convention - this is a good way to do that. It is an idea whose time has come.

I'm asking each addressee to forward this Email to a minimum of twenty people on their Address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise.

In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the
Message. This is one proposal that really should be passed around.

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution -

"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States ."

Read and reread what you just wrote and think about it. What you believe in is Tyranny. You believe in the Rule of Man, not the Rule of Law. A judge who "legislates" from the bench, does so with this year's fashions in tow. Beware, because fashion changes but the Law remains the same, unless amended or repealed. You believe in subjugation as practiced by kings and dictators and you don't even know it.
