If I have to.....I suppose.....could be done.....maybe it'll happen.....should be an OK thing to do.....might be fun.....looks interesting.....seems like it was fun before.....people appear to enjoy it.....I pretty much want to go.....kinda need the break.....I will try to make it.....I will put some effort into seeing if I can go.....I want to make it.....I gotta do this ride again.....twisting my arm to make it happen.....I'll see if I can get the bike ready.....passed congress and the house.....I'm wanting to be there.....I will make it.....I gotta do it.....I would not miss it.....hell yeah, I will be there.....you can't stop me!!
Scot & Travis (my brother-in-law and one of the locals) just got done building a new smoker and my sister said they are itching to try it out. The menu for Friday so far is Ribs, Chicken and Pork Roast....
Last year the WV Buell Rally raised $1000.00 bucks for one of the local football teams so they could buy new jerseys for the kids.
This years WV Buell Rally benefactor will be Erik Buell Racing.
What I would like to do is a silent auction. I have some Buell stuff that I can part with for a good cause and in my mind Erik Buell Racing is a good cause. What I would like to see people do is bring your Buell stuff that you can part with and put it on the auction block. It doesn't matter what it is... some one else might be able to use it... muffler clamp... tire plug kit.. Buell sticker... If you have stuff just collecting dust, bring it so someone else can bid on it, buy it and take it home and let it collect dust in there house for awhile. Court is digging thru his archives of Buell swag and is also sending a couple of signed books.... we could see some cool Buell history!
Once its all said and done I will make the donation in my fathers name. He refuses to take a dime for all the food and effort he and the rest of my family and friends put into this event so I though this would be a great gesture.
I hope, since I'll be gone all next week, to dig through some stuff yet this week. I have a couple funs things I'd love to toss into the auction for the cause.
In addition . . and I'd like to make it this year but it may be tough . . I'd like to offer my thanks to Mark's Dad & Judy. They really make this an incredible event that certainly makes a 12 hour ride worth every minute.
Their place is fabulous and the perfect place in the perfect setting. If you've never watched the sunset in West Virginia with friends . . . you'd do well to get to this event.
I also know how hard headed Mark's dad is and there's no giving him a cent . . . Mark's tried everything but waterboarding . . he's just a great guy and makes friends with folks the moment you get off your bike.
Rt 7. is pretty but boring. Rt 800 is really good, and rt 26 is likely the best in the area, but the section west of that map is outstanding - you'd be missing the best part following that.
260 is also really good. To be honest, you really can't wrong in that area east of Marietta. But that's "Demon's Traingle" just misses a TON of really good stuff.
There's not a whole lot of bad to be found - there are some narrow roads that could use a pave job, but overall the elevations changes and curves are fun and challenging. It's difficult to really hammer it though unless you know the roads well and most turns are somewhat blind so it's hard to see what you're getting yourself into, and the trees and powerlines don't always tell the truth.
Mark, Any chance you can arrange for Jesco to stop by (not Jesse and not Elvis, mind you)? http://www.dancingoutlaw.com Watching this video has made me reconsider taking the back roads in WV!
Why Mark.....isn't that your step brother by your aunt who begat your sister with your dad who became your wife from which you begat three female children one of which went on to marry your granddad at a drunken family reunion, thus your daughter is your grandmother who lines up perfectly genetically to be your mother and cannot be proven otherwise?
Mark, You mentioned the ferry - I noticed that the EuroRider non-event (also at N Bend that weekend) has a link posted to what they call the SE OH Ferry Loop (I actually printed it out to take a closer look tonight). Sounds like we may have company?
I've had a couple of emails from them..... I think it should be fun. I plan on running the Devils Triangle area on Saturday so I'm sure our paths will cross.
I'm looking forward to seeing there bikes... FO SHO!
I just got my Uly and was going to come and rally. Where is everyone staying? I see the few spots on the website. I just wanted to see were the action was going to be located. Where is the actual rally? Is it in Woodsfield itself? I don't want to ride all the way out there and miss the best parts.
I plan on being at TWO again this year. I have been to 4 buellfests but this will be my first with an actual buell. I guess you crazy bastards finally rubbed off.
