This fad just amazes me. It is as if the trendsetters were sitting around and said, "Hey, what can we start doing that really makes us look like we are 'tards? I know let's pull our pants down so that the belts is around our thighs! That will really teach The Man a lesson!"

This must help law enforcement as much as those high heels for men back in '73 or so. The perps can't run!

I laugh at my kid's friends and give them no end of shit when I see them sagging like that... although never seen one sagging quite that far.

I always encourage the kids to express themselves freely, but about 7 years ago when my youngest showed up at the house with black fingernail polish, I IMMEDIATELY and LOUDLY let him know how gay it looked...

Not gay=stupid, but gay=homosexual.

It never happened again.

No offense to anyone that has done time but I try to stay away from any fad that traces it's origins back to the penal system. This is where sagging pants originated and made it's way into pop culture.

We actually had a Judge send 14 inmates back to the jail to change their pants because they all where hanging off their ass. It was great!

A couple of months ago I was sitting at a light and I watched some want-a-be duck behind a big phone box to hitch up his britches as he was having problems holding up whatever was in his pants.

Stupid little c****** next door was wearing his pants like that, I walked up behind him and used the back of his pants as the first step and walked over him.

None taken, you're absolutely right.

How can letting your pants sag to show you are somebodies Bitch in the pen become cool on the street?

Bitches hold onto your pocket, sagging has nothing to do with it.

We actually had a Judge send 14 inmates back to the jail to change their pants because they all where hanging off their ass.

In California, you won't make it to court like that. Won't even make it past the morning strip search before you get to the bus. Inmates know this and trade clothes the night before they go to court because the cops will beat your ass and hit you with the tazer if you delay them in any way when they want to load the bus.

Stupid little c****** next door was wearing his pants like that, I walked up behind him and used the back of his pants as the first step and walked over him.

While I don't personally take offense to being called a c******, it's technically the same as saying n*****.

Either of those words will erupt almost any prison barracks into a full-scale riot at the drop of a hat.

Just saying. In the joint, I'm a peckerwood or just a 'wood. The black guys are called brothers, and don't use blood or cuzz. Hispanics are either paisano, sureno (soo-ren-yo), bulldog or norteno (nor-ten-yo) depending on which prison you're in. Paisa's are everywhere and are native born to whatever country they claim. Sureno's, Bulldogs and Norteno's are gang bangers born in the USA. They all hate each other and are at war. Any Norteno locked up in a southern prison is automatically PC'd up (protective custody). Same goes for any sureno in a northern prison. Bulldogs are from the Fresno area, and likewise treated in a northern or southern facility.

Peckerwoods are not the same as NLR's (Nazi Low Riders) or Aryan Brotherhood. All Aryans are peckerwoods, but not all peckerwoods are Aryans. NLR's are a mixed up group of whites, hispanics, and a few "others". Generally, the NLR's end up in the SHU (security housing unit) if they go around claiming it because they cause trouble with every faction.

Any questions? There will be a quiz on Monday.

edit: forgot to mention the white kids that grow up in gang neighborhoods and roll with the Sureno's. Another name for Sureno is Southsider, and the white guys in that group are woodsiders, but they don't like it when anyone they don't know calls them that. It's a sign of disrespect if you aren't personally acquainted with the individual. Nobody calls a white southsider a woodsider in front of any unknowns unless they want to get shanked in the chow line.

It's no joke. When you get in, you have to side up immediately or everyone will perceive you as weak. The weak get stomped out and rolled up. (beaten senseless and ordered to sit in the middle of the barracks with all their possessions until the cops reassign them to different housing.)

Back to the point, the sagging phenomenon absolutely came from the prison culture, and is a clear indicator of the revolving door mentality of these cranial midgets. You can earn your stripes on the streets if you pack drugs up your ass and take them inside where they are delivered to a shot caller and distributed among the hierarchy of inmates who are awaiting trial for serious crimes. When this happens the rep or shot-caller of a particular set makes a phone call to his homies on the outside, and lets them know that the little homie put in his work, which gets him respect on the outside.

I do my best to enlighten anyone who is interested in this crap, in hopes that it effects them in such a way as to adjust their decision making process...

Stay the f*ck out of prison, it is no place to be for a regular person. You can be a good person, make one mistake, and find yourself serving the short side of 6 years.

It will change you forever. Don't drive drunk. Don't sell dope. Don't assume that you have 2nd amendment rights, because when a piece of shit cop lies in his arrest report, it will be his word against yours and the judges are not sympathetic at all. No lawyer can really save you once "they" have decided your fate. Lawyers can only decrease the magnitude of your punishment. The long term effects are the same, you are socially tarnished for life.

If I was to try and apply for a regular-type job I would be completely wasting my time. It cost me over $20000 in cash and over two years of lost wages to reduce my sentence from 6 years with 2 strikes to 18 months with no strikes.

Food for thought.

While I know harm wasn't the intent, please keep the racial slurs out of the convo. Never know who is reading, not everyone has the same level of sensitivity towards remarks as others. Also, last thing we need is getting flagged as a hate site by a bot that cant read the context! : )

I agree that the whole pants down look is ridiculous, but to each their own.

Wasn't trying to say it's a joke. You were stating the way things are, much like they are described on those shows. I like the show. Devious or murderous I'm not. So it's a bit fascinating and repulsive at the same time. Some of the views and thinking are completely foreign to me.

Wasn't trying to say it's a joke.

I didn't mean to imply that.

Every day I was inside, I promised myself that I would do everything in my power to help people understand what a nightmare it really is.

Most people don't realize how quickly they can end up there. DUI being one of the fastest ways. 0.08 blood alchohol content is ONE drink. Get in your car, run afoul of a LEO with a hard-on, get yourself a hanging judge and *BAM* it's 18 months in the state pen for you, on top of the $10,000 fine. Good luck getting your car back.

While most people's first DUI lands them in a program, suspended license, and a reduced fine, the letter of the law in California is this:

ALL felonies carry a mandatory minimum sentence of 18 months. Period.

I saw an 18 year old kid get sent up for 3 years with a strike for having ONE pill in his pocket. Why? Because his dumb ass dad decided he was going to represent him in court. The judge gave him a chance to step aside, which he declined. Dad then waived his right to a jury trial and insisted the case be heard immediately. The judge made an example of him. Normally waiving the right to the jury trial means an immediate continuance, and things get stretched out. The judge made an exception and the DA got to clear his briefcase of a case file. It took less than 15 minutes.

That kid would have gotten a program and probation with a public defender which would have been FREE. Small stuff like that, where a kid on his first offense is involved, the judges do tend to be very lenient.

Not this time, thanks a lot dad.
