Ok I'm sure this has been asked and answered but is there any difference Between the 12 and the 9 pipe?

Only 1 pipe for both.

The 9 outlet has an insert to give more back pressure.

ummm... actually the 9 and 12 pipes are made differentlty. its not that one wont bolt on the other, because they will, but they are not built to the same dimensions/specs.

yes im positive

The diameter of the pipe is smaller on the 9 pipe, however the outside diameter of the collector ( the part that the pipes come together and the muffler overlaps to clamp on) is the same size.

oooookay. The dreaded question. Has anyone taken a 9 pipe, put it on a 12, and tuned it?

So the 12 pipe won't work right on my 9 or will it be ok.

It will work on a 9 but it will run like doodoo. I orginally had a SS Drummer for a 12 on my wifes xb9 and it ran really bad and sluggish, bought one for a 9 and it runs great now. Both of them were being run on the bike with a race ecm.

From my understanding the 9 and 12 SS drummers are built the same the one for the 9 just has a insert in the outlet to increase back pressure. When I talked to Kevin about running the 12 pipe on the 9 he suggested against it but said the 12 would run good with the 9 pipe on it.

I can take pics tomorrow of both pipes to show you the differance in the outlets if you want me to.

That I do not know. I don't know of anyone trying a 12 pipe on a 9.
