I bought a ZG double bubble windscreen from him a few months back and I have been trying to get ahold of him via email and Ive got nothing!

He already has my money, Ive sent him several emails and no reply.

All I know about him is his name is Joe and he lives in Milwaukee off of Ryan Road.

If anyone knows him or has a contact number for him please let me know!

Thanks,
Chris

Edit: I just checked my paypal log and his name is Joel Serrano

I wonder what Joel would think about a few hundred bikers parked at his house in June?

Chris, sorry to hear that you have been stiffed by a Badwebber. Unfortunately it is always a gamble when you enter into a one on one agreement via a forum.
I recently copped it it the other way around. A Badweb member from California hadn't been able to source an XB engine temperature sensor in the US so I offered to purchase one in Australia (I knew that HD had a couple in stock here as I had just purchased one) and send it to him.
This character even went through the charade of suggesting he was suspicious of someone halfway around the world offering to go out of their way to assist.
So, guess what stupid (me) did? - yes, I ordered and paid for the sensor here locally, packed it very carefully and shipped it registered mail to this this guy with the agreement that he would pay for it via Paypal. He confirmed that he received it (couldn't really do anything else given it was registered mail) and then proceeded to tell me he didn't really need it as the temperature senders were now available in the US. Despite several PM's ( non-abusive I might add), I haven't heard from this dude again.
Fortunately these miserable bastards are very much the exception on Badweb - don't let it get you down. There is always an outside chance that they have had something prevent them from responding, I like to think this guys is very ill in hospital and simply can't return my PM's.

I've never had a problem through Badweb.

I've had problems buying stuff for non connected friends through ebay & small ads websites though.

My usual procedure is to do some web research to find a home address & phone number, then ring up & politely ask if there's a problem, because if so I have a couple of friends in the locality that can just "pop round" to get things sorted out.

Sometimes it's just people being slow sometimes it's people trying to stiff you because it's not much money & you're a long way away.

I usually find that direct contact on the subjects home turf expedites things to a satisfactory conclusion.

It's a PITA to have to do it though.

for the very most part this forum has done more good over the years than bad regardless of some infighting due to personal beliefs. if someone is selling something, i look at how many posts they have which would lead to how long they've contributed to this place. the next time i want something from someone who hasn't been around, i'll fine a badwebber in the area who has been around and have them look them up first or find out if they personally know a fellow badwebber. been ripped off once before myself for a full set of lock off the m2 and i'll do my best not to let it happen again. life's to short to play games with peoples lives.

Every single person I have ever dealt with from BadWeb has been honest and outstanding. I have payed forward many parts I had no use for and have been helped in a similar manner....I believe what comes around goes around...The members that I have bought stuff from have been honest...

But the other side of the coin is....if somebody rips me off....they are due for a azzkickin'....

Paypal should list his current address and phone number if he's got it listed. You can request a refund from Paypal also as you never received your merchandise from him. They might be able to hunt him down as to why it was never shipped. Good luck.

Benefit of the doubt would say that there is a possibility that he fell on hard times, could have lost his job, lost his internet connection, had his phone turned off, his computer disk crashed, could have had someone throw his computer out the window, could have gone to jail, got killed in a bike wreck or house fire, any number of possible reasons or excuses as to why the part didn't get shipped.

Or he could have ripped you off. Don't know.

How long has/had he been on the site here? When did he last log in or post? Does anyone know him personally from one of the former BRAG groups in the area? Has anyone tried contacting the local former Buell dealers to see if any of them know him? Lots of ways to check up on him. And I wouldn't be surprised if someone has already PM'd you asking for his physical contact info just to do a curtesy (sp?) drive-by to see what his place looks like.

I've bought and sold a few things on the site here, and the only complaints I've heard were when I didn't part out a bike because enough of it wasn't requested so it didn't make sense to do the dismantle.

Sorry for your hassle, just be thankfull it wasn't for a bigger ticket item. The Milwaukee job market is bad right now, craigslist is loaded with moving out of state sales.

Try this if you want to, send a letter to his last known address with Address Correction Requested and see if you get a return or update on him. Also do a Wisconsin court access system search on his name to see if that shows any clues.

Hope this helps some. If not then at least my thumbs got a little exercise typing it in.

This is the first issue I have had with a member. The guy really seemed decent enough to deal with, so I would love to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I did pay with paypal, but when I filed the "Didnt receive my item" report, paypal said it wasnt eligible for protection.

I have CCAPed him and nothing recent enough to yield a good address.

Granted it was 30 bucks, but its more principle of it.

$30 makes a lot of peanut butter sandwiches. There's more to it than just principle.

Have you done a search for this guys login to see if he's been on here recently? Hope it works out.

edit: did a search abck 60 days and no posts by the guy, maybe he got hit by a truck or something.

Chris, here's the original thread from the the classifieds:

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/21/ 540652.html?1267762757

The thread reads like someone not up to something, you know how you can tell sometimes when something is going on? This thread doesn't have that flavor, to me, fwiw.

I suggest pm'ing the others from the thread and verifying they received their items and find out if they had any additional contact info from their transactions.

My advice, having gone through something like this is to not give anyone the benifit of doubt.

Its been since feb and he still hasnt shipped it out, call his local pd. The longer you wait the less likely youll see your money or the part you paid for.

Rays and Chris, that sucks. I have never been ripped off yet luckily. At least e-bay allows you to see history of purchasers and sellers. Seems like we need to police our own. Thanks for the heads up on Joe rom ryna Rd. in Milwaukee. Rays you have a name and address for your freeloader?

PM the other winning bidders from his thread and ask them if they got there items! If not you know somethings up.

If they did, maybe yours got lost in the mail? It does happen.

Z11 has been registered for 4 years and only made 28 posts. I don't think I would have dealt with someone that inactive, given that pretty much anyone can just pop in and make an account. Not that you did anything wrong, that's just me. Same thing on ebay... I'm hesitant to do business with new sellers.

FWIW: I ALWAYS pay with a credit card through PayPal. They don't want you to do this, but what it allows me to do is dispute anything i want through my credit card company. Screw PayPal. : p

There are a couple Joel Serrano in the court system, you'll need more info to know if Z11 is any of them. Nothing fresher than 2008 though. You might also look at his posts to see if he met up with anyone on the site or gave any hints on where/how to find him.

I'm going to guess he left town for a job elsewhere until I hear otherwise. Mapquest shows the address on Forest Hill as a house so this could be a foreclosure situation as well where he lost everything inside. Hopefully he will reappear someday and do the right thing.

Hmmm, just looked at maps.google.com streetview and it shows a real estate sign in the yard or a neighbor's yard. Could be from before he lived there.
