One particular dumb ass put a hurting on his right wrist two days ago.  The swelling has mostly subsided after a couple of days of icing. Had X-rays done yesterday to be sure. Doc said it looks like possible minor tear in ligament of the outer wrist joint. I was hoping it was just a sprain or it just popped out and back in. Right now it is weakened somewhat, having a limited range of motion, and it only has pain when moving beyond like 15 degrees. It is much improved over yesterday. If it improves that much again tonight it shouldn't be too bad at all. Haven't ridden since it happened to rest it. Going to test ride today. Is it time for one of those throttle paddle/hand rest things? Has anyone had a similar problem and used one to enhance a weak wrist with limited mobility?  I wish I still had my three wheeler, I would set up the thumb throttle for now. The fingers work fine, so braking is not a problem. I can see laying it on top of the bar and taping it in place if need be, but twisting the throttle could be tough. Don't want to do pain killers while riding, so I'm not using anything but aspirin for it. | ||

Is it time for one of those throttle paddle/hand rest things? A few of my friends have those and love them, and they don't have problems with their wrist. I tried one on my bike, I liked it, but not enough for my cheap ass to buy one  | ||

I'm jumping in the saddle tomorrow morning heading down to Copper Head. I hope the rain holds off, not cause I don't want to ride in it, but because I plan on sleeping in a tent! See you folks on the porch for Dinner Friday night... it's only about a 10 hour ride from Hampton Roads!!! | ||

Just got a call from Barker. The group at the lodge are going to meet us at the gas station near the beginning of the Cherohala in Telico Plains at around 10:30 to 11:00 Friday morning. I believe it is an Exxon station, they have a bike pavilion in the back and they sell Cherohala T's and goodies. From there we head over the Cherohala and on to what ever roads get chosen at that time. I'm trying to get work wrapped up so I can get to bed! I haven't even had a chance to pack the bike yet, guess I better get the fluids in it before I forget! What a busy day this has been so far.  We are still starting out at the Shoney's in Maryville at 9:00. | ||

Friday ride up 325, 19, 294, 68 to meet up with fellow Buellers in Telico. Watched a BMW stress test. rolled up down and around cherry-cola pkwy. And now enjoying the porch at Copperhead... Having breakfast at the lodge this morning- pretty good vittles here. Tom is here and at least another Bueller or two I don't recognize. Started raining about 1:30 AM and tapered off about 7; looks like it's going to clear off shortly. OTOH the weathermen are talking like Armageddon is approaching the area tonight. Hope to get some more rides in today. | ||
