That's funny for what is described as a right wing Christian extremist group. Personally I've been quietly wondering about this case. A big part of their plan was involving explosives, and from what I've read, explosives were the only thing illegal that they were caught with. There was an agent working undercover in the group. He was the groups explosives expert. Is it just me or does this seem like a set up? | ||

I think its hilarious that all of the "obama backers" jumped all over this story when they heard that this group of wingnuts were worried about the "antichrist" His backers always assume the "antichrist" will be Obama. In this case it was the former head of the UN who no one else seems to ever worry about. There may actually be something to this Obama is the antichrist if even his supporters think that. Sad to think that the FBI only rounded up about 50% of these nutjobs, the other militias turned in the rest. Guessing the militia system is working as well as the FBI. Militia in most of the commonwealth consisted of every able bodied man in the commonwealth and all were required to be proficient with arms, own arms and train a few times a year. No need for conscription, everyone was in the militia. | ||

Before this turns into a right wing "militia type wing nuts" bashing thread. As for the "Christian" angle, meh. I'm still waiting on the "Muslim" angle to be attributed to Ft. Hood, the Christmas panty bomber, the Ft. Jackson 5, the recruiter station murders, etc., etc. I find it very disturbing in regards to the amount of MSM coverage over a "Christian" militia versus the "lone wacko" angle predominantly seen with the Jihadi crowd. Maybe I just need to up my meds & hum to myself that everything is rosy & I only have to worry about "Christian" militia members, tea partiers, etc., etc. Wackos are wackos. The difference here is that if 100% true, they were stopped before any violence took place, unlike some other wackos as noted above. | ||

The militias in that area all know each other quite well. This group was known as extremists among the militia groups. I still wonder how much the under cover agent had to do with getting their plan in place. What was all the talk about attacking with WMDs too. All they had was conventional explosives, unless I've missed something. The first couple of days was headlines about attacking with WMD. By that definition there were WMD all over Iraq. I wish the press would get their act together and stick with facts. | ||

The MSM is hyperventilating over the "Christian" militia angle on this event. Where's the hyperventilating about the Jihadi @$$hats that have been ACTUALLY KILLING folks since before 9/11? Ft. Hood could have been prevented if we weren't so damn PC about Islam, but perfectly ready, willing & able to public denigrate anything "Christian". I find that not only revolting on so many levels, I find it damn near suicidal. "Something sinister afoot" has been going on for quite some time. Christian? riiiight. B. Undercover FBI? Hmmm. C. Assault rifles & WMD's? I really doubt it. Seems like typical MSM propaganda to me. ( I didn't bother watching much of the nuts webpage. Any automatic weapons fire? ) D. the described tactics are typical terrorist, mostly Islamofascists, but some IRA flavor. Also used by Panthers & other leftist groups, as in the "start a fire, shoot the firemen" tactic used in urban unrest in cities in the past. My point is, that's not a "extremist right wing" tactic, ever. Those on the side of "restoring the govt." and the pro constitution crowd, might shoot a politician ( wrong & stupid enough ) but would not target police ( except BATF in the case of Tim the OK bomber.... and he's nuts & dead ) since the logic is that cops are doing their duty, and starting a war with them makes you the bad guy automatically. A "counter-revolutionary" cell might plan to kill LEO's if needed, but would not target them to "start a war". That's a leftist thing. Lots of unanswered questions here, and little if any factual reporting. If you told me they were all members of acorn.... I might believe you. Sinister? Indeed. The "conservatives" have an ongoing argument. Govt. should do all the good it can. vs. Govt. should do very little and let the people do what they want. The "progressives" have no such internal debate. Of course govt. should do all the good it can. That's what the political argument should be about. It's not, because there is an emotional con job involved, "fair means equal outcomes" and the promise of moral superiority, part of any good religion. There's a real simple math problem here. Average income is only 3 or 4 times what you can make working a crap job in relative poverty. The Bill Gate's of the world have orders of magnitude more income than an average guy. Sure don't seem "fair". Now, lets say we just DO redistribution of wealth. We take everyone's money & give everyone equally. 2 things happen. Because the govt. is going to keep at least half of the money, to do what it wants to do.... everyone now has about a half the previous average guys wealth. Today, in the U.S. that would mean about $30K year. Probably less. The people who actually do all the work, and they are legion, will see no reason to work hard when the guy who just sits on his porch and drinks beer gets the same. Some will keep working hard, but when enough just go on the dole, society quits working to keep us well fed and happy. Now, that is thought of as an extreme case by those who favor redistribution. True. But. Show me that society that is better fed and happier that does follow progressive ideology. | ||
