We have a long history of insurance companies getting the govt. to pass laws to make their profits higher...or was that to help them cut their fees for the regular guy...yeah that's it, to make things cheaper. Helmet laws, seatbelt laws, lifestyle laws, all with the promise of cheaper insurance, always no reduction in costs to you. Ever. ( nice profit boosts for them though )

On the other hand, Helmets are a good safe idea mostly, and so are seatbelts, eating less salt, eating less transfats, not having unprotected sex with strangers, Not riding 2 wheeled vehicles, Limiting alcohol use, and locking yourself in a armored car for your daily commute. Good safe ideas all.

Not what I would make you do, but Insurance companies would no doubt "encourage" all the above safe behaviors....and govt. will put you in jail for the laws you break when the companies get them to make such laws.

Now they are ( stupidly IMHO ) all on board with the Pelosi/Reid/Obamacare gravy train, possibly figuring that the short term profits will be great for bonus's and that the next admin. will mitigate the worst effects before they lose money.

I think they are Suckers.... but they may be right. This could be the best thing to happen to insurance companies since variable rates.

I hear this alarmist crap all the time first Obama was going to take away your guns. Has that happened and i missed it.

So when things happen slowly and methodically, are we supposed to ignore them? When you point out the iniquities of government officials and their policies, you're labeled "alarmist" or "rabble rouser", and the kool-aid drinkers all stand around and point, saying "see, those alarmists don't know what they're talking about... everything is fine!"

Everything is not fine. READ YOUR DAMNED HISTORY BOOKS. STUDY THE PATH OF TYRANNY.

Then speak, but arm yourself first and be prepared to defend your property and your life.

The revolution will not be televised.

The gun grab will be in the form of a treaty, so Obama can deny any blame. Just as Obamacare was not written by Obama, so it's not his fault. It's Bush's. ( or Reid's, he's expendable. )

The religious takeover continues apace....

It's far better to let people die & go blind than to admit that the Sun is a variable star, right? It's better that ten million plus people die of malaria than use DDT, because the bitter dying of cancer Rachel Carson wrote the biblical text for the New Religion. Right?

Excuse me, I'm going to go spray pesticides around my house just out of spite. Then, maybe I'll go shooting.

Without the "alarmist crap" the guns would be taken away as they have been by other repressive regimes through history. Does this alarmism by those who want to own guns scare you?

car accidents, motorcycle accidents, recreational accidents; have always been carved out of your health care coverage by your employer. Its a little thing called third party liability and subrogation. If you are involved in an accident and it is someone elses fault... it goes to their insurance company. If they dont have enough coverage.... they can and will balance bill you for the remainder of care as it is s NAMED POLICY EXCLUSION.... go read your policies... Cheer up, parasailing, skiing, snowmobiling, ice skating... arent covered either.

Why ... because it is health insurance, not accident insurance, you need something like a policy rider of STC. LTC. from say a firm like AFLAC to cover those. Also if it happens at work... it aint covered by your group plan either... thats your workers comp L&I.

Read your policy
Get your Legislator to READ THE BILL.

I give it ten years before it implodes under its own weight.
