Erik Buell Unplugged and Uncut, Part 3: What's It Like Being E.B. Anyway?

http://www.cycleworld.com/article.asp?section_id=3 &article_id=2126

"And who knows when or how at this point, but I feel like we'll be back. Who knows what form that takes, but we're still here, we're still standing—and I want it just as much as I ever did. More than I ever did."

Great interview.

Every time I hear Erik speak or read what he has said, I like him a little more.

Ditto "Hootowl".
Makes me proud to "be into" Buell Bikes as much as I am.

Great stuff.

Not so much what he says in the interviews...but what he's *done*, and how he talks about it afterwards. Truly an amazing guy, with some serious dedication.

RANT WARNING
Is it weird to hold a man that I have never met and really only found out about 4 years ago in such high regard? The reality of it is that I have never met nor seen Erik Buell in person, but I have developed a passion for his creativity and drive I feel like I have. I have been party to a lot of different endeavors in my life and I have never felt so strongly for a product. The demise of the bike last year made me sick to my stomach. At the time I worked at a dealer and when the news hit the sales manager was more concerned about the getting rid of the bikes than the end of an era which in turn made me a little mad, especially because he was the (Buell Specialist) and it was his job to promote the brand (wanker). Whatever I digress. So here I am with a bike they don't make any more desperately looking for a part outlet other than HD ( I refuse to go into one) not that much concerned about service I do that myself. Wondering what's next? Do I look elsewhere for a replacement when the time comes all the while hoping and praying that Erik gets another street bike cooking before then? I hope so. But then again this is Erik Buell for god sake he literally came back from the dead so this little hiccup should be a mere speed bump on the road less traveled. And I word to the man himself if he's out there lurking. We may not have the number of riders that the HD guys have but we are a loyal bunch we have stood by you thru all of your trials and tribulations and will continue to do so. So if its next month or five years from now we will be waiting to ride your latest masterpiece I sure it will be a great one.

Sorry if that was long but I just felt compelled after reading that last installment of the article.

That out of body experience is a true and AMAZING story that gets wilder the more you hear of it.

These so called "speed" bumps are a joke, all they do is slow you down!

Man, I really needed that third installment today. That was awesome. Inspirational, though I'm sure none of us needs to put him up on a pedestal, he just doesn't seem like a guy who would want that.

Blasphemy aside, and I don't mean to offend anyone, not even Jesus. But I can see the big guy upstairs on his 1125R, doing a burnout on the Harley Davidson logo.

What would Jesus drive?

Easy: 12 passenger van.

He's got to haul his crew around right?

I and my son had the good fortune to meet Erik and he is an inspiration. I told my son. when you think of hard work and dedication. "Buell comes to my mind"
the small company that can compete with the giants.

That was great finish to the series! Another reason while to me, a Buell is much more then just a Buell.
