Front end of my 25r is making a click poping noise, you can hear it when riding when you hit a good bump. And also when braking hard when comming to a stop. You can feel a click in the bars. It never did this before. I think its not right others say its normal. Question is, my pipe comes in today. I wanna install it. I don't know when its going to warm up again to take the bike in. Should I hold off on putting the pipe on? Also what's your take on the popping sound?

Er, yeah, I'm pretty certain forks should never click. Who says that's normal?

Floating rotors CAN make weird sounds.

The GSXR front end that I raced on my SV would rattle at low speed with no brake load.

You might consider having somebody stand off to the side when you apply and release the brakes a few times to see IF it actually is the brakes. If that wasn't it, try some harder application of the brakes to compress the forks.

OR - get a couple buddies to help you by MASHING down your front end while you listen to it. Unscrew the spring preload so you're not fighting the spring force (count number of turns so you can re-set when you're done). This can be done in your garage. WARNING - help from 2 friends is gonna cost you a six-pack.

My XB pops. It feels like its coming from the steering head. I checked the bearings and they are ok. I spoke with a reputable Buell Tech, something to do with the floating rotor, or the forks. I don't know.

Could it be something loose under the dash? Wires can make noise like that. Maybe the horn? Could be a lot of things. Poke around in there before you bring it in.

The floating rotor makes a steady and repeating click, like a playing card snapping on the wheel spokes. Loose caliper or brake pad? Wheel not torqued and the bearing spacer moving around? Fender bolts?IF you feel it in the bars,it sounds like it might be something loose in the triple clamps/bearings. My XB12R noise turned out to be a loose reflector in the headlight...............took a bit to find that one!

My clcking/popping type noise in the XB front end was a loose caliper bolt.

Fixed it! Was the big bolt in the middle of the tripple.

Forks poping ?

F the Pope.\

If my forks poped, I'd be a lot slower.

Hope the pope doesn't smoke me.
