Blackhawk Farms Trackday Thursday June 17th, 2010 Blackhawk Farms Raceway in South Beloit, Illinois(less than an hour from East Troy) This is a PRIVATE track day for Buell Homecoming participants. Put on for us By Blackhawk Farms, and Hals HD/Buell. Cost $170 Gate fee for no riders $5 Lunch for NON-riders will be $7-$8 Erik Buell will be there along with a few of his new Erik Buell Racing 1125RRs or 1190RRs. There will be 2-3 groups at different experience/speed on the track at different times. It's a good place to hone your street riding skills without cages running you down. I plan on being there with my Uly.  | ||

Well then Mr literal  I knew that! I only have one bike and I don't plan on taking the chance of being on a track where if I did go down my insurance would pretty much say  Be glad to hang out and watch(Buell's going at a steady pace) (Message edited by americanmadexb on March 12, 2010) | ||

Not to sound like an @ss but I had the same fears until I sat down with my agent and went through my policy. If my motorcycle is competing in a RACE then it is not covered. However, if I am doing any sort of track riding for the pure enjoyment of riding and learning experience then it is covered. A friend totaled his BMW 335i on a track day. He tried to turn that in to his insurance company. They refused the claim and dropped his insurance. Yes, policies do vary. | ||

if this is going to be an all buell(basically) day, im hoping as many of the old school, been around here for years bedwebbers get there as possiable. there are many i have never gotten the opportunity to ride with, muchless make some laps around the track with! that is still assuming i even get to make it. ugh | ||

oh, and there is no way in hell the 1190 will be making any laps at the track    believe me i tried! knew the answer, but never stops me from giving it some effort! | ||

Check the details of the policy, usually you are covered as long as the laps aren't timed. | ||

if anyone is interested in roughing it, i have a few acres of woods not far from Blackhawk. y'all would be welcome to camp there. no power, no water, no fee. i'd be willing to truck in water, and rent a gennie and a porta-jon if there's enough interest. it's outside of town, so there would be no problem whoopin it up. we can build a big-ass bonfire, and listen to all the lies about how fast y'all are!  |
