Well, for all those who have sent me VINs to check for recalls and stuff...I can no longer do that. I find myself suddenly "Employment Available", with a lot of free time and no H-Dnet access anymore. So, if anyone knows of someone looking for a hard worker, send 'em my way. I'm diverse: BA Writing/Journalism BA Technical Theatre 10+ years professional theatre/concert production experience, including 6 years facility / crew management and 3 years system install including network / WiFi control systems 3 years vehicle service management experience 6 years vehicle sales experience with the highest margins per deal in the department Now, I am cranky. And rude. And ugly. But when I remember to bathe, I at least don't smell. Too much.

Yeah...guess I have to rely on Froggy for part numbers now. ugh, LOL. I'll find something. Lord knows I have enough of a List around home to work on...but if I can sell a product that I don't believe in 1000% and be successful at it, I KNOW I can sell myself! |

I'm very sorry to hear this. I wish you the best in your job search. I hear stuff like this every day it seems. I sure hope things turn around soon. My son is also looking for a job and my daughter just found out the place she is working is closing their doors in the next month. |

Thanks all for the kind words. My comfort comes from a couple things - the fact I *know* I was good at my job, and the fact that I'm not alone in today's world. Does it suck? Sure. The monthly budget just took a big hit. Will it pass? Yep. It's a good damned thing it didn't happen in June or July - I'd be OUTTA HERE for a couple weeks on a loooong ride! |

Good luck Joe, We met briefly at TWO, I was with Webie,M2Nc, and Ulywife I'm sure that you will find some thing, and that in the end the dealer will suffer from not having a, competent hand on the floor. funny life is circular enjoy some down time and perhaps knock out some of the honey do's |

Oh, I'll still be on badweb. Got too many damned Buells in the garage, I can't leave! Just entertaining the idea of going back to work in my "old" life - the entertainment biz. Never a dull moment, that's for sure!! |

Good luck man- you've got loads of great experience, surely something good will be coming... I know that when I left MC sales about a year ago, returning to restaurant work, I found I enjoyed the work more- after all, for most of my life that's the work I've done- PLUS, a BIG PLUS, I enjoy taking Sunday off now! As you well know, time off on either Saturday or Sunday from MC sales always nags you for the potential sales you will miss... NO MORE!!! Sundays off with my honey are sacred now, and if I choose to go riding, I can show up and just hang out at the dealership, no pressure, may even get me a PBR tallboy and sit in a rocking chair for a while... Enjoy your sabbatical... again, good luck! |

CONGRATULATIONS ! . . . this is fabulous news. You've got the personality, knowledge and "guns" to do so many things. I've never seen one of these situations that didn't work out for the better. Drop me a note and I'll give you a call this evening. Eager to visit. Court |

I' with Court on this one - Congratulations. Might I mention that with the attitude Court has, it's obvious why he's so successful and influential in whatever he does. Wishing you the best, Joe. (Message edited by Phelan on March 01, 2010) |

Thanks again, everyone. I'm with Court on this one too - not a door closing, but a whole hallway full-o-doors, ready to open. Now, because of Vern...I should get in touch with EBR and see if I can get an ECM in time to hit Daytona with the Uly Still thinking hard about it Vern...it might actually happen (me going - no idea on the ECM but that's secondary). Court - PM sent (well, as soon as I finish this) |

Joe; I finally got to meet you at Homecoming last summer. I'm sorry to hear about the job loss. I hate it when somebody who loves their job, and is good at it gets the ax. I have no doubt that something good will materialize soon, and you'll enjoy it even more than what you're leaving. Meanwhile, enjoy life. Jump on one of your Buells and ride to Daytona. Get Court to buy you lunch. Immerse yourself in an ocean of HALF A MILLION motorcycles! It never fails to make me feel a little better (and a little bit more deaf) If I keep this up, I'll quit my job and join you guys down there! |

You can now to ANYTHING you want. Tell me what limits you. Are you lazy? Are you stupid? Do you not want to work? So much of what happens to us . . . triumph or tragedy . . . is almost entirely determined by mindset. Once you decide there is nobody or nothing you will allow to come between you and doing something you love . . you'll be sailing. I did my college undergraduate work on a Big 8 gymnastics scholarship and I used to LOVE to compete against guys who THOUGHT they were going to loose. Think like a winner . . V-I-S-U-A-L-I-Z-E . . and be one. You should have been in my class 2 weeks ago when I gave the lecture on "Entrepreneurial Success". Next time I see you . . . remind me to tell you about the boy with his head in the fish tank. Be the absolute best you frickin' can be. This is life, not window shopping and you've got all the tools you need. I HATE TO LOOSE. |
