Yah, only problem is it's making me think about putting a 'real' lift on mine (4" springs instead of 2" shackles) now that my 31s are wearing out.... |

I love my '01 Cherokee Sport. My fiance has a Sportage, and she called me the other day. She was at a client's house, and was stuck. We'd just gotten about half a foot of snow, and this road hadn't been plowed yet. She was parked going up a steep hill, and someone had parked right behind her. She kept sliding back when she tried to move. I hooked up the tow rope, put it in 4low, and drove up the steep hill like her SUV wasn't even there. I don't mind the poor mileage as much, my primary vehicle for most of the year is a Buell. Oh, wait, two Buells, now. |

My wife had a 97 Wrangler. We sold it when we had our first kid. We still miss it. I am looking at replacing her SUV and a new Jeep might be on the menu. |

I too have a serious Jeep affliction. It all started about 13 years ago with a need for a cheap 4wd. The list has continued over the years. 79 CJ5 85 CJ7 88 YJ 00 TJ Sport 04 TJ Rubicon 08 JK 4 door Rubicon Here's a pic of the newest one w/ 3.25" of lift and 35's (315 70 17)

Oh yeah, the JK 4 dr. Rubi gets about 13 mpg around town, 15-16 mpg back and forth to work in the winter(35-40 min drive mixed driving), and last summer it got about 18 mpg on a trip to Ocean City (4 hours of highway). Not too bad with 35's. |

I have always had fun with my brother's Jeeps (four in all) but never had one of my own until 4 months ago. I have a family of five to cart around so went with the Commander. All wheel drive, traction control, stability control, V8 and five-speed auto. It gets around 13-14mpg around town. I have not taken it on a trip yet, but off-road even with stock size tires it's still fun. I also have come to appreciate all-wheel drive with all this rain. You guys are killing me with the Jeep pics. I love Jeeps just never owned one.. Question, how well would a Jeep tow a small trailer with a 4 wheeler? |

Which Jeep, the Commander has the tow package with the factory Class III Receiver hitch, tranny cooler and 3.73 gears. Towing is rated at 7200# |

A Wrangler with a six cylinder should pull a utility trailer and a 4 wheeler just fine... |

Small steel trailers will be fine for towing with a wrangler. If your worried about weight, then look into an aluminum trailer. I got a Worthington 5.5'x10' aluminum and you hardly notice it's there. I've had as much as 2000 lbs. on it with the Jeep and it handled it fine. Cool jeep Boney, here's a pic of my last one after a trip to Paragon Off Road Park.

Wouldn't it be kinda redundant to have a Jeep and a 4 wheeler? |

hey guys I was looking at the Jeep Patriot and considering buying it but the resale value of it sucks and then there is this new band transmission that Nissan makes. Anybody have any insight to the Nissan band transmission and the Patriot? I'm going to be buying a new car this summer and have owned Fords and chevys all of my life. Thanks K |

I ordered my 2002 Wrangler X with cruise, AC, and 7 speaker surround sound 8 years ago. I know have 98,000 and I am doing my first brake job this weekend! I also decided to replace the serpintine belt, plugs, and the air filter. My dad had 249,000 miles on his before he traded it in and it ran fine. The only part that has wore out to date was the zipper on the back window, one starter, and the tires. everything else is pretty much original.
I wish my M2 was as reliable! |

JEEP stands for Just Empty Every Pocket. its a jeep thing...you wouldnt understand! Jeeps are a kinda car that you have to love before you buy one, they are rough, no creature comforts, and suck on gas. but are by fun the funnest i've had on two wheels! but when i had my jeep i didnt have many issues with mine, unless you count the MPG as a problem haha |

Koz, you better change your brakes. I wish I could find someone who would trade even, my half doors for their full doors. I traded my soft top for a hard top. |

Here is mine, I also regret selling this one. I put an Atlas t-case and and lockers front and rear, it would go anywhere.

I had a CJ7 many years ago. I always wanted to get back in a Jeep so I bought a Grand Cherokee a few years ago. The V8 has enough power to pull my little toyhauler with my ATV and a Buell in the back or TwoBuells!

Figures...I traded my 99 TJ (135,000 miles still had original clutch) this past summer because I got tired of replacing parts (top, entire brake system, etc.) since the kids were driving it most of the time. I was worried about them getting stranded or in an accident. Of course we get tons of snow this winter and I've got no 4wd vehicles for the first time in a dozen years. |

Bottom line as a potential buyer with limited income: Nissan Xterra: 4402 lbs. 260 HP 281 ft.lbs torque 15/20 mpg Jeep Wrangler: 3760 lbs. 202 HP 237 ft.lbs torque 15/19 mpg The wrangler is an icon and deserves better in this era in my opinion. Please dont take that as a slam to you guys that own them. Im simply saying as someone with a gas guzzling 4wd daily driver I need more from jeep to make the switch. My xterra is faster, bigger and gets the same if not better mpg than jeep. Of course it will not own the trails like the jeep but is fine for my use. |

These vehicles are like our bikes, if you just go by the spec sheets you may not buy one. But you need to drive one to see how fun they really are and if you can't get by that, then you need to buy what feels right. |
