Sure was pretty this morning with at least six, maybe eight inches of snow sticking to everything. I woke Michele up at 3:30 a.m. so we could stroll the neighborhood in complete solitude and enjoy the unusual East Texas Winter Wonderland. At that time the snow was still coming down. Snow at night, sticking to everything, makes for some interesting photos, especially looking skywards and with the flash.

Daybreak was no less wondrous.
Looking up from the front yard.
Hang tough mighty Oak. Hold fast and keep your branches from falling on the car or truck! A few cracking, breaking, then <whump!> noises could be heard around the neighborhood this morning. |
Whatever

I love when the trees look like that! I hate what it does to traffic though. I don't even want to know what it does to traffic down there! |

Do they even have snow-plows in Texas? I've just got in from a 2 day, 1500km round trip, most of it in the snow. -4 & snowing hard at the Peugeot factory in Sochaux this morning. |

Roads are clear. Temperature hovering right around 32oF. We prefer it that way. |

>>> What kind of dog is Darrell? Obnoxious, incorrigible, relentlessly energetic, stubborn, fun-lovin', dirt-diggin', squirrel-chasin', bird huntin', people-lovin', rescued from the street dunno-what. Has hunting dog characteristics, dark ears of a pointer. No shovels please. That means manual labor. I prefer to take a photo and use photo-shop to clear the snow. |

The snow is beautiful. I wish that photoshop trick really worked! We could use some of that around here. Hopefully it will disappear as quickly as it appeared. Sounds like Darrell is related to our Morgan (Message edited by kim_g on February 12, 2010) |

I saw in the paper today that all US states - except Hawaii has at least a dusting of snow right now. |
