Maybe it means that this "new" model will be available until 2048.

I am missing it, it looks like a Nightster with minor differences. I think those guys are getting paid way too much.

Please tell me they did not drop Buell to refocus on their core customer base and all they can come up with is bolt on crap and bold new graphics.

Fail.

A behind the scenes look at the mad geniuses at HD

Let’s see, if I bolt on this fender, and these mirrors...these trees, and those wheels...presto! An all new Harley! Slap a non-negotiable price tag on it boys, it's ready to roll!

Oh one more thing, issue a press release loaded with clichés and hackneyed rebellious terms like "slammed" and “blacked out”.

I redid an 85 sporty, and it looked just like that.............oh gee; another sportster................The whole reasoning behind putting a larger fuel tank on these was for longer range. HD noticed the swell in aftermarket sales for gas tanks, and adjusted accordingly. Oh yeah, and the fat front tire just screams custom. Folks have been putting fat boy size fronts on these things for years. Yup, just another sporty where they took all of the old parts in back of the warehouse, put em together, and called it a new bike. I would like to know if they improved the suspension...................

mhhh maybe i should get a job that lets me take an old bike thats been around for years, slap a few parts that dont matter, and give it a new paint job and make bank!....

really though i agree with you guys, its an old bike with a new name...

tiny tank, because it is so uncomfortable, you dont want to seem like a whimp when you cant ride it all day.... hey look, I am out of gas...
Doc, when I pee theres blood....

weee, bould new colors.
I dont think that captures much of the 57.
The 57 had a bigger tank, a skinny front tire, mid controls, chrome accents....
Shiate I wanna job with those style weinees.

SBDN: Same bike, different name. I love Sportsters, but give me an XR1200 or an XB12Ss or even the old Sportster Roadster or Sportster Sport. This is just more of the same and it's too low for a short guy like me to be comfortable for 200 miles.

Plus, I had a 2.3 gallon peanut tank on my 89 1200

If they really wanna get crazy,
go look at the Rooke Scrambler

Base it on the XL frame, XR1200X motor,
rear sets, clip ons, now you are getting closer to XL that would bring me back to the showroom.
(still damn near 100 lbs heavier than the CityX)

I put 60K miles on my Sportster Sport, a 1999, rigid engine mount, and I never bled when I peed. It is a good bike. Twin discs up front, 3.2 gal tank, two-way adjustable reservoir shocks, two-way adjustable forks, twin plug head...

Maybe this is their new 1948 model.

So when they said they were going back to their core market. What they really meant was they were going back in time and ignoring the upcoming market. Really great idea you f***ing morons.

This is how you remain profitable for YEARS. Take the same, tired old parts. Mix and match, paint, chrome, and VOILA! BRAND NEW, ALL NEW HARLEY!!!

Get the marketing boys out of the bar and have them push this, our "core market" will believe anything we tell 'em because they've gotten so old they don't remember this is the same old sh*t we sold them five years ago.

Oh, and DD?
