I clicked the link & looked at the page. A quick glance had bells ringing, so I fired up the calculator. If you add up the quantities of the models shown it comes to 1135. So either there are models not shown, or somebody has lost 108 bikes! | ||

The day they sale the last one, the cash value of the used ones will jump. I bought the last two camping lots on a campgrounds once with my friend. They were 150 dollars each and had been for years. The next day lots were going for 2000 dollars each. | ||

I think there's a dealer out there with leftover S3's still sitting on the floor asking full MSRP (at least this was the case about a year ago). I'd be willing to bet that it'll be a looooong time before it gets to zero. | ||

The quantities listed on 'find a bike' are pretty overstated, from what I'm finding. I've been semi-seriously looking for a bargain new XB after picking up my 1125CR a couple months ago and, based on talking to lots of dealers, many of the bikes that 'find a bike' says are available are often long gone. | ||

Precision HD/Buell STILL has brand new Tubers in their backroom. I disagree with Froggy WRT "nobody wanting Tubers".Maybe some weren't very pleasing to the eye.But some work very well.Like mine | ||

Having new tubers in inventory is what happens to a "sales" business when it's run by "order takers" and not salesmen. And STUPID ones at that. All those bikes had rebates from Harley-Davidson when they were new. The rebate money made them real easy to sell. Don't feel bad for those guys that are into those bikes for way more than they are worth now, they screwed everyone else when they bought their Road Queens. | ||

It will take a long while to get to 0 if ever. It will get down to a couple of hundred then the asking price for the ones that are left will be retail plus. | ||

Tubers and XBs are the REAL Buells. 1125s are the V Rods of Buell. That's an interesting analogy. I think the 1125's are the Buell's that Erik really wanted to make all along, at least for the last decade. But they now won't have the chance to have the association with that platform established as the "when you think of Buell, what do you think of" platform. That honor probably will fall to the Sportster-derived engine models. When the closure was announced, I did run out and get a firesale priced 1125CR, as I thought it was the pinnacle of his design evolution to date. Still think so, and suspect they probably are "better" bikes (pick your own definition) than of the preceding Buell models But, with that said - I have developed this insatiable urge to pick up a new XB before they're all gone - which I will probably be acting on... | ||

Well the air cooled have been the engine for a couple decades longer than the rotax so yeah, they will likely be thought of more. I ran around crazed for a CR for a while. Could have used that finder in oct. Finally said hell with it after just missing a couple and decided the XB's would be better. Still have to pick mine up so i know it throws the total off by one. | ||

I've run the gauntlet on Buells having owned two Tubers (X1 and M2), two XB's (R and S), a Blast and getting to own (ride) an 1125R for six months. I guess I'm more of a traditionalist. I reverted back to Tubers and currently own a M2. The XB's were nice, but not as bullet proof or solid as the Tubers. And the 1125, well to me its not a Buell. I'm more of an air cooled V Twin kinda guy and I love the versatility of the Tubers. Finding parts isn't so hard being that they interchange with 03 and earlier Sportsters (which are plentiful). The M2 is by far the best Buell (if not motorcycle) I have owned. So much so that I'm looking to get another one. | ||

Froggy, the 12s is gone as of a few months ago. The X1W was added to the collection too. They may add a 2000 M2 race bike to the collection in the near future. | ||

For whatever it's worth, I've been tracking the "available" bikes since Christmas. As of today, the total population reported has gone down by 15% since then. The % of 1125's when I started watching was 46%, now it's 44% so they're going away a little faster than the XB's. And yes, I am a geek that probably should be spending his time worrying about more important things. |
