23 million dollars to the Anglia CRU. For lying to your govt. & promoting fear in the children. Why? so they will be happy to be taxed to line the pockets of the head of GE. ( who works for Obama now.) |

* Climate panel chief says evidence overwhelming * Says economic impact leads some to try to discredit COPENHAGEN, Dec 7 (Reuters) - The head of the U.N.'s panel of climate scientists on Monday strongly defended findings that humans are warming the planet, after critics said that leaked emails from a British university had undermined evidence. Rajendra Pachauri is the head of the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which said in 2007 that it was at least 90 percent certain that humans were to blame for global warming. Climate change sceptics have seized on a series of hacked emails written by climate specialists, accusing them of colluding to suppress others' data and enhance their own. "The evidence is now overwhelming that the world would benefit greatly from early action," Pachauri told delegates at the opening session of the Dec. 7-18 Copenhagen summit. "The recent incident of stealing the emails of scientists at the University of East Anglia shows that some (people) would go to the extent of carrying out illegal acts perhaps in an attempt to discredit the IPCC." The emails, some written as long as 13 years ago, were stolen by unknown hackers and spread rapidly across the Internet. Sceptics say that the emails showed that scientists had manipulated evidence. Pachauri said the IPCC's findings were insulated from tampering by a strict review process. In one email, confirmed by the University of East Anglia as genuine, the head of its Climatic Research Unit (CRU), Phil Jones, said he wanted to ensure a specific paper which doubted climate science was excluded from the IPCC's 2007 report. That paper did in fact appear in the final 2007 report, the university says. Pachauri on Monday defended scientists named in the "climategate" row. "The internal consistency from multiple lines of evidence strongly supports the work of the scientific community, including those individuals singled out in these email exchanges," Rajendra Pachauri told the 192-nation conference. "Given the wide-ranging nature of (economic) change that is likely be taken in hand some naturally find it inconvenient to accept its inevitability." These are all very impactful looking protests. So intricate that surely they were started before the news leaked. Showing over and over again how committed people are to global warming doesn't change the fact that that commitment MAY be based on lies. So I truly fail to see how these images really add to the discussion. And if, in fact, the Russians exposed it to further their own desire for money, then I'd say they are no worse or better than anyone else who did the actual FUDGING to further their own desire for money. The people who have spent the bulk of their lives, those who actually BELIEVE in the cause and have poured their passion into it, those are the ones I feel the worst for. They can't believe these emails - their minds probably won't even allow it at this point. Everything would just be cleared up if these scientists would simply release the raw data and EXPLAIN the difference. No problem - if it makes sense and is scientifically valid, then the problem goes away. Why aren't they doing that? |

Hell man you live in a world where fanatics blow themselves up just to get women! Your schools will likely be teaching man made global warming for decades after this. Look how long they have been preaching the Evolution Theory |

I can't go to work today because I am snowed in. This may seem like no big deal to folks in most of the country, but normally it never snows here. Maybe a light dusting every few years, but never like this. Temperature records for the Sacramento area go back to 1849. This is officially the coldest it's ever been on December 7.

I'll give him credit. In a Camaro- it would have me snowed in too, especially in an area where they can't take care of the roads. I don't think we've gotten over freezing in a week. Shit ain't melting here. More coming tomorrow. |

Yup, had 3 Mustang GTs, drove them all in the snow w/o snow tires. It's very exciting but can be done. The last one had traction control which worked surprisingly well but the first two were really a challenge. Something about pushing wide tires through the snow with lots of weight in front, none in back, and lots of power. Whee! |

I think that where Doughnut was coming from is the relative difference between a "Wisconsin snow in" and "Sacramento snow in"...the difference being a few feet... Back in the late 70's here in Florida, we had a "dusting" of snow with temps in the low teens...the snow didn't melt for two or three days...people set up lawn chairs near major roads to watch the bumpercars show.... |

There are a few differences in areas that are or are not used to snow: 1) The cars are equipped with snow tires, fwd, or 4wd in snow areas 2) The roads are cleared, salted, graveled. 3) The people don't drive like friggin' morons. |

One of the biggest problems when it snows out here west of the Cascades or Sierras is the snow water quantity is so high it turns to ice and the highway depts don't have any way to move it. Most of the time all they have is road graders and they don't like to use them because they just put a big berm of ice next to the road. |

You gotta ask yourself Sean, what kind of person would depict that skeletal human scene based on ZERO fact to support such an idiotic vision? Criminals always have a good reason in their minds for perpetrating their crimes, usually money and/or power. Your premise seems to be that all who are party to the man-made climate change hysteria/fearmongering must share the same motive. That is a silly premise. Everyone acts on their own motives, some may simply really believe that they are on a crusade to save mankind. None of that makes it honest or responsible or supportable. If there is an honest case for designating the gaseous compound which is absolutely vital to life on this planet as a "pollutant" I'd sure like to hear it. I've yet to hear anything of the kind. I've yet to hear a valid argument for the theory that warming is automatically bad rather than benign or even a positive thing. Now we know that the planet really has not warmed so much, that the very cover page of the UN report on climate change is a FRAUD, and that "scientists" have colluded to create it and have schemed to destroy those who question their conclusions. We now also know that the temperature trends of the past decade (no rise in global temperature) do not correlate with any of the "scientific" models that are being used by their authors to predict long term, catastrophic global warming due to man made CO2. Imagining that their may be some kind of hard core truth and laudable motive behind most of it is ludicrous. I see it as little different from what the Nazi party did via their lies/propaganda. |

I realize that's not much snow compared to what most folks here get. My point was we are having record cold for the area when the so called experts are trying to tell us it's getting warmer. With the traction control turned on the engine would die as soon as I let out the clutch. I had to turn it off in order to move at all. My driveway rises sharply just before I get to the road. When I tried to climb the hill it started to walk sideways, so I just backed up next to the fence where it would be out of the way. |

Yeah, Sacramento types aren't used to snow. It ain't a yearly occurrence. It hailed like armageddon last week and now this week we have snow. Perfect timing for the global warming hysteria. |

FYI. Weather is not Climate. Think of it this way. If you've never had snow before, maybe there are certain things that have happened since 1849. Like, um, I don't know... maybe exponential population growth and an industrial revolution. And someone explain this. If global warming is such a conspiracy, who stands to benefit? If global warming is really caused by humans, and business is just trying to cover it up, who stands to benefit? I'm sorry if one of you sitting at your computer in your tin-foil hat has already answered this, but I can't stand to read seven pages of right wing regurgitation. |

If global warming is such a conspiracy, who stands to benefit? Research Grant Money--Researchers who want to be paid grant money by the Federal Government to do climate research. Research in support of a governmental and legislative position means more federal grant money. Cap and Trade--Using global warming as a clarion note of concern provides the opportunity for those seeking to increase power and control using the force of the federal government to do so. Those who assisted in this power grab are rewarded with the largest grants. One only needs to look at what is happening with GE to see how the game is played. |

"FYI. Weather is not Climate." Agree 100%! Please tell that to all the idiots and liars who were exploiting the peak in Hurricanes a few years back as evidence that man is causing a climate disaster. "If global warming is such a conspiracy, who stands to benefit?" If you cannot see that, then your eyes and ears are closed to the issue.
- As already stated, all the "researchers".
- All the alternative energy producers (wind, nuke, solar, ethanol, geotherman, hydro-electric, etc.) who are in line for ever more MASSIVE gov subsidies.
- All the alternative energy production and/or generation equipment manufacturers and service providers.
- All the carbon traders set to become incredibly wealthy upon the initiation of mandatory CO2 "cap and trade" schemes.
- All the alarmists who profit from their books, speeches, films, and the like.
"I'm sorry if one of you sitting at your computer in your tin-foil hat has already answered this, but I can't stand to read seven pages of right wing regurgitation." Avoid the issues, choosing instead to sink into ad hominem attack. You've already lost the debate. |
