Your bike brought me back to the passion and excitement that I had as a kid throwing a XR75 around the dirt corners.
No other bike has given me such fun, taken me to the off path places and caused more raucus shenanigans locally ; )
Thanks for a great ride. Mine will never end up in a MUSEUM, but it will always be a guarded treasure.

I have such emotions today. Ranging from anger to sorrow.

One thing is constant:
My appreciation for the great Buell bikes I have enjoyed since 1993 and the 150,000 or so Buell miles.

The good thing is that there are many more miles left in the 3 bikes I own.

Thank you Erik Buell, current and past elves and to my current dealer (HD&B of Glendale).

There is a day tomorrow. And I am sure we've not heard the last of Buell motorcycle company.

I love my Buell XB12Ss. Sold my Sportster in 2006 to get it and haven't stopped smiling or thinking about my next track day since. Thank you for these great American sport bikes.

Erik,

I hope that a silver lining will emerge. To say that I was crushed when I saw your video message hardly carries the weight.

I waited over 25 years to find a new motorcycle that I could not live without. I was intrigued by the TT, but it took the Ulysses to capture me. Every mile wears a smile.

Thanks for making it just for me.

Erik,

When I watched the video, the emotion conveyed was intense. I'm truly sorry for the loss that you and your team are being forced to endure. I have never felt such a bond with another brand or another group of riders. The Buell community is like a large extended family of like-minded folks and I'm sure it will live on. There are many who would support you in any future bike building projects (and who really hope that you'll pull something out of this).

Good luck, dude. Come out and ride with us. Get back to basics. Enjoy yourself.

Cheers!

Heck,call Barack for a bailout!

somber and sorrowful thoughts go out to Erik.

It is a sad day in the motorcycle world. It has been a pleasure to meet and ride with one of the true innovator's in the motorcycle world. I plan on keeping my Uly for a long time. Nothing but good thought's go out to Erik and the elves. Hope you can get back up and rise again. I know I will be there like the others on this site to support you in the future. Thank you Erik.

Your outstanding bikes brought me back to motorcycling after a long layoff, and I've been astonished by the handling & performance.

I often find myself at the local burger stand, Proudly parking between the sport bikes & Hogs, and talk with both crowds with shared interest.

A single story. I'd just bought my Cyclone, and was still breaking it in, while riding through an orchard on a twisty road, the curve sign said "20" and I sliced through at 55. As the next corner slid beneath me, I saw the road ahead was covered in broken boxes & applesauce. I said a bad word. With my mind screaming "I just bought this thing!", I clenched my 2 fingers on the front brake, the rear end rose, the bike went from 45 degree's to vertical, bounced the rear off the ground again, and stopped just before the applesauce. I patted the tank & said, "I'm keeping you." I'd love to take credit for the save, but it was all your work & engineering that kept this old rider on the tires, and on the road.

Keep making your dreams real. Best of fortunes for the Buell team members.

Erik, when I first saw one of your bikes 13 years ago I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Later I learned the story behind the bikes, and you inspired me to become an engineer. That story can't end now. If you need young blood to suffer through the Wisconsin Winter in a barn while creating the next generation of American sportbikes I'm there.

Thanks to all the Buell family for all the hard work and positive energy they put into their products. My XB12 STT is the most all-around fun bike I've ever owned. My 1125r has given me a new appreciation for fantastic handling at SPEED! My best hopes and wishes are with all of you!

Erik,

You are and still will be the best of the motorcycling community... Thanks for letting us into your heart... you will always remain in ours no matter where your career takes you... hopefully on to bigger and better things... though it is so hard to imagine that being possible right now...

Buell Employees,

I am so sorry this has happened... may be time to incorporate as a cooperative and continue on the tradition of 26 years of great motorcyces as owner-operators... let's all hope for the best in the long run...

Erik,

Unlike many here, I am new to the BUELL experience. Didn't know much, he!! didn't know anything about Buell a few years ago. Saw a few Blasts over the years, but when I first saw a Uly just knew I had to have one. Researched the brand, squirreled away some scratch and last spring finally made my dreams come true. Bought my 08XT for my 40th birthday and it is the best bike I've ever ridden(and first BN bike, ever). I am a convert. I will treasure my Uly as long as it lasts.......and look forward to your return/rebirth. Can only imagine what rides you'll bring forth.

To the Elves I wish the best for you and hope this only a temporary set back, that you all land on your feet again. Whether it's building bikes or some other endeavor I'm quite sure you have what it takes to be successful.

Sad day to be sure, but hopefully it's just the end of a chapter in the story of Buell.

Thank you Erik and the entire Buell family for making my riding experience better!!
