Harley will continue to offer Buell parts............ but at what price?
I was just about to pick up a new 1125CR, but after this I would bet in a few years it will be like owning Cagiva, if you do need a part it will probably be expensive and take forever. |

Some really good folks are doing some extraordinary things to make CERTAIN you have really great support for as long (I think it's 10 years) as HD is obligated.
I think your pricing fears are unfounded.
I bought a mirror for my 1977 XLCR Cafe' Racer for about the price of a cheeseburger.
One of the "good" things about this is that HD has the "poop" to provide the support. |

How infuriating and unnecessary (and gutting for Erik Buell, I'm sure).
I just bought my second Buell, a Uly XT to replace my original Uly which I sold to a friend--another Buell convert. So many great ideas, such promise, and such a wonderful, soulful product, truly something more than the sum of its parts.
Even if I can fathom how H-D might want to cut some underperforming parts of its world when the chips are down, how can it not do just the little bit necessary to see Buell sold off to another investor? There's the dealership issue, I know, but surely this is not insurmountable.
Quite apart from this, they are choosing to lop off the one vital and forward-looking part of their empire, and to look backward to their already hugely nostalgia- and marketing-based enterprise. Shame on them for putting value only in what will make the most money most quickly. There are more valuable things in life. |

My buddy had just started inquiring about a new Buell and the wife and I were 9 months (payments on another vehicle) away from buying one.
I met Buell a few years ago. Poor guy had a migraine but despite his employees suggestions he refused go inside out of the sun and heat because he wanted to meet and speak with everyone who came to the event. Each of us that saw him that day left impressed by him as a person.
I'm upset for those of us who love his bikes but I'm truly saddened by what has happened to Erik's dream. I hope somehow he is able to find the funding to raise his company from the ashes and start again. |

My brother purchased a ULY the other year I took it for a ride and was hooked. I went the the Harley dealer and road a XB12S and was in love. My hat is off to all the Buell employees who put their blood, sweat and tears into these bikes. I hope and pray that the Buell employees find jobs in this hard economy. The other year while I was at the Harley dealer there was a guy there who was trading in his Road King on a ULY. Maybe on if Harley had did a better job of marketing these bikes. THIS IS SAD! |

What a shame. Erik's address to us all was like being at a funeral. I hope HD holds to their promise and provides us with parts and service, but I won't hold my breath. For most dealerships they couldn't get it right when the company was alive.
I have to say I do feel a little slighted by Erik himself. I understand that he has to look out for his own, but to stay with the mother company? That seems a bit like a poke in the eye.
But, let's look on the bright side ... ummm ... nevermind. |

Your bikes (Fischer) are not bad, still an asian bike
Some of you guys are denser than depleted uranium. How many times must Mr. Fischer tell you he's not British and his bike is not made in Asia??
If you call a Fischer motorcycle Asian, because the engine was made in Asia, than you must call a Buell motorcycle Austrian.
The Buell was made in Easy Troy, Wis.
The Fischer is made in Pocomoke City, MD.
Btw, I'd tell Mr. Buell to come to Maryland but this state is so anti-business and a tax hell hole I'm not sure why Fischer chose to setup shop here.

My guess would be that Erik Buell has a much better understanding of how to proceed into the future than anyone here , other than Court of course. This will not in anyway impede us in our correcting his chosen path with our collective wisdom and wit. |
