Back in the late 60's, when I was a poor college student, four of us drove from Gainesville to Daytona to catch the Daytona 500. Got in line to go through the tunnel to the infield and two of the guys jumped into the huge trunk of my 60 Impala convertible. The car had air shocks, so the trunk didn't look loaded. The ticket takers didn't bother to check our trunk so we essentially got to see the race for half price, probably all of $5 at the time. Yet another example of being young and stupid...

"Tensile strength 36,000 psi (for ASTM A 36 wire) in tension..."

That'd be the yield strength. Tensile strength would be around 58 ksi or so.

But I doubt that coat hanger metal meets ASTM A36 standards.

Cool to run into another structural guy on BadWeB and on who also lives here in Texas. : )

My Dad used to pull us kids (on a sled) with his Nomad station wagon. That was on an icy road (ice sled, not toboggan). My Dad was cool!

Do women always ride side saddle in India? I don't know how anyone could stay on a moving scooter that way...

My wife is from Indonesia to this day she will ride right site left side and conventional we have taken some very long trips and she never complains of being tired. ( we have traveled over 800 miles in 1 day) we went on our honey moon on motorcycle and rode from Bali , and the entire length of Java. It was quite a experence where some nights we would sleep on a straw mat is someones home.
