since wolf likes to watch dance videos, i thought i would bring this subject up again and i'm happy to say that i finally went under 165 for the first time in decades literally through diet and didn't starve myself. haven't done any exercise for the past couple of weeks(been working on the house in my spare time) but it seems like what i've been eating agrees with me so maybe i'll get on down to 160 after all. just stoked to be down to the 165 mark.

so who else has lost anymore.

Hi Neil! I have been working on it also. When the original thread died I was at about 225. Then I went to the Dr's office and found out that my scales were eight pounds off!

I joined a weight loss clinic after the first of the year. When I started there, I was at 239, on their accurate scales! Wholly crap, that meant I was near 255 when I originally started!

After several months on their program I weighed in at 216 a few weeks ago! I was back to 220 last week, but now heading the right direction again. That original thread was a great motivator for me. Since that thread went away I have noticed a few of its former members have bloated back up like an un-ruptured three day old road kill on a ninety degree day in direct sunlight!

I weighed 200lbs at the beginning of April and through diet and exercise now weigh 177lbs. My goal was 175lbs, but I am happy where I am at. I am continuing to eat healthy and go to the gym. It is more about body fat % for me now.

alright vern feels better doesn't it. besides the fact that we have a history of heart disease on both sides of my family and the fact that i've had a mile stroke a number of years ago, i just know how easy it is to let myself go. i've fought with my weight all my life and now i'm finally winning. that's my story and i'm sticking to it.

it was a good thing that got a lot of us going wolf. and for me it is definitely a health issue. the looking/feeling better is just a little bonus compared to trying to stay healthy. here's to ya wolf.

that's about what i've lost over all from when this whole thing started hardcorps. i'd like to get a few more pounds just to maybe help guarantee this area. good luck with the next few.

I think we shall...

I need a goal.... racing was it...

I just got of the phone with the guy that got me on the track.....

"Dude! you don't need to run ever race!"
I think he is right... but it sure is hard not to!

I need join Mikef5000 and start racing myself! He started doing triathlons..
I don't know that I could do that... but I gotta do something!

Hey Wolf,

Have you ever thought of basing your goals on USMC standards? I remember that PFT 3-4 times per year scared me into keeping in shape even in the reserves. I would be right on the border of height and weight because I lifted a lot. I even had to have a weight waiver a few times, but I always had a 1st class PFT. I think my average was in the 280-290 range. I still take pretty decent care of myself, but I would be really nervous to see a real PFT score right now.

The last time I was deployed, a group of guys I lifted with kept track of our progress on the side of a wall locker just like you guys were doing here. It kept everyone motivated and moving forward. My normally 34” waist was down to 32” and my arm measurements went from around 15 inches to almost 19”. I wish I could have kept that intensity when I got home.

I didn’t take part in the “Get It On” thing, but I followed it and it kept me motivated and in the gym. Some of you had fantastic gains and losses.

Good luck with it.

I hope you guys go for it again.

I could share the things that work for me. (Keeping it simple and involving my girlfriend are two of the biggest things.)

Bill

I would die! My best PFT score in the 6 years I was in was 295.
I did that ONCE!
Did my 20 pull ups 80 sit ups in 2 minutes... but I couldn't get under 18:10 on the 3 mile run.....
Like you, I always had a 1st class PFT score but getting back to that level of fitness....
I hate to think what it would take..... pain is good... extreme pain is extremely good!

What was it that they always told us?

"Pain is weakness leaving the body!"

I'm at my worst right now: 190. That said, I weighed 185 in 5th grade. Stayed in the 170's for a long time, and I'd like to get back there... seems like a good weight for someone 6'. I eat pretty well already, but I tend to have "portion issues" at night, and I'm becoming way too sedentary in the evenings. Gotta' start working out more.

I have stalled at 230, I had to go buy clothes for a job interview, I was NOT happy. I mean I cant park a beer on my a$$ like the Hump man can, but at 5-6 and 230, I am the short grumpy fat guy.
(though I have lost 45 since the beginning of the year)
So as of my Birthday, it was 231, 5-6 and an impressive 44 inch waist and a 30 inch inseam. : |
I start with a trainer on monday. Goal is to loose 30 lbs by New Years.
