It's been so dry I haven't had to mow the grass in almost 2 hours. The last 3 times I tried to go ride I only got caught in the rain 3 times . Does Buell make a bike that floats !

Man I hear ya!
This week looks no better.
Mushrooms are everywhere, everything feels damp, and slimy.
I'm ready for some dry weather myself.
Yesterday we had a 3%er get together, it rained most of the afternoon, and when it finally stopped we got to play, then of course, it started raining again, we didn't stop playing.
We made a real mess of Charlie's yard, the bikes were all over the place.
I don't think anyone didn't have a spill in the mud.
What a great time!

It's my fault.
Sorry. I took a job requiring several ditches. Missed a few dry days trying to get started. Spend one day digging and the ditches haven't dried up since. Customer is not happy.

On the bright side though, I dodged it yesterday!

I went with the Boy Scouts on a raft race down the Hiwassee. The adults went in canoes. I figured if the river didn't drown us the rain surely would. We got a few sprinkles, but it sounds like it poured everywhere except there.
I couldn't even complain about breaking camp in the rain today.

Looks like the back yard right now.
Schools are delayed or closed this morning.
I won't be able to work.
Soggy, boring, day it looks like to be...

Looks like it might rain.

Yeah, I told my wife this morning that if we don't start seeing sunshine by the end of the week, I'm starting an ark!

It's a slow mover that's for sure.
I'm now sharing my front yard with the entire neighborhood.

I talked to a vendor in that part of the world today and he told me his car started floating yesterday while at a stop light. We laughed about it all the while I was thinking that if you're dumb enough to drive into it maybe you shouldn't be driving.

There's a car lot near us that's under water.
All you can see of the cars in the lot, are the tops of the cars.
There are roads all over that are closed.
It took Ann two hours to make what's usually a 30 minute drive.
The road by our house is non-existent at the moment.
It's getting bad, real bad.

Hope they're all ok!
The Old Timers are saying they've not ever seen it this bad before.
Gwinnett (where we are) haven't had a school closing since we've lived here, until today.

I have live around Dallas for a good portion of my life and have never seen water(that wasn't frozen) stop any activity. This is a first. Of course the population has grown substantially over the years.
Everyone is okay and I am sure they will stay dry. That pic of 278 just freaked me out. That must be near the Thornton Road/Sweetwater Creek area.

Left the house at 7:40am, got to work at 9:45am. My route is 29 to Indian Trail to Oakbrook Parkway. It usually only takes 30 minutes - with traffic! When the Gwinnett Fire & Rescue truck passed me in the turn lane towing the motor boat behind him, I really wondered what in the hell I was even doing out there! The US Auto Sales on 29 just past Patterson Road was under water. You could only see the tops of the cars, and the water was about half way up the side of the building. It was pretty wild seeing the creek that runs across there spilling out into the road.
My office ended up closing at 4 instead of 5, so I creeped onto 85 and "floated" about 25 mph the whole way home. Took me a little over an hour, but was better than trying to detour around all the surface streets that were closed.
I felt really bad for the poor guy on the Ninja behind me on 85. If the ramp had been in the back of the truck, I seriously would have considered giving the guy a ride. I hope he made it wherever he was going safely.

Flood waters are scary. We went through this in 1999 when Hurricane Floyd came through. Be safe.
