I have rented from Eagle Rider.... it was OK
I would also recommend looking at renting from a Harley dealer.
If you are a HOG member and do a "Fly & Ride" you will save a bunch of $$$
So its worth spending the 40 or 50 bucks to become a member. You will save that much with your first rental.

Eagle rider and Harley-Davidson are your 2 largest bike rentals. You can try to Google some BMW shops as well to see if they know anyone who rents BMW or other metric bikes.

I rented a bike from Bartell's back in 2001. They were pretty nice, and even gave me a free ride to the airport when I dropped the bike off. I'd use them again.

Bartels Harley/Buell is closest to LAX airport

Glendale Harley/Buell is closest to BUR airport

Both are Buell-friendly but rent only Harley.

You can rent sportbikes also if interested. Can get websites if interested.

YOU MUST let us know if you do travel in the USA!!!

I am going to fly away from Russia in December or January when the winter is in Russia.
Now I am going to buy a tickets, get a travel visa and think about how to live there (I meant where to stay at night).

Wolfridgerider: I am not a member of HOG. But in any case thank you for advice.

just to let you in on a secret, the winter's here are in january-december also and chances are you won't get to see some of the prettier sites of the us if your on a bike. but if you head toward florida, i'd be happy to hook you up for a night. in the middle of remodeling but if you can look past that it won't be to bad. good luck none the less.

CA, AZ, and NV winter offer great riding, some risk of rain, but the temp is fine. There is much more gravel on the canyon roads during the winter due to rain, but still better riding than most of the country has.

Slaughter: I will keep in mind it. Thank you.

Nevrenuf: Now I am looking at the Google Earth program and thinking about the future route and the landmarks which I and my friends must see... Anyway before flying away I post it here and ask you about your things about it. It would be cool if guys from here a little criticize it.

Spatten1: The rain is not a big problem unless it is a heavy rain. I have rode many kilometres under rain with my friends.

My wife and I have a tire and service shop in Pahrump Nevada where we also provide a rescue service to the area around us, so we are able to host visitors of many nations. We have made "friends" all over the world and we would be happy to send you home with one of our shirts as a souvenir.

Drkside79: I am going to open the motorcycle season in the Russia in April... And I do not know any direct flights to Chicago from Moscow. So I think there is no chance for my being in your city.

Jstfrfun: Your offer sounds good : )

Funny, I am trading places with you. I am heading to Yaroslavl for 11 weeks. Flying out in November. It will be my first time in the big country. Should be fun.

Any place to grab time on a Buell or a Ural out that way ?

Vasily,
I was just wondering how you bought a Buell in Moscow?
Is there a Harley Davidson Dealer there?

Gentleman_jon: Yeah There is one. But is is so expensive... And none of me friends buy the bike of some parts there. I bought a second-hand bike 04'Buell XB9SX (Model year 05) which was founded for Japan.

Cityxslicker: Will it be your business trip won't it? If not and it is you travel why did you decide to go to Yaroslavl? Not to Moscow, not Sankt-Peterburg (BTW it a good city I love it). I have been in Yaroslavle 2 times. There is a MC there which is known in whole Russian. Name of it is "Black Bears". Here is the site of theme http://www.blackbears.ru/ . (be careful much more cyrillic)
I am not sure that you can ride somewhere in November because of the snow everywhere.

Its a cross cultural exchange and unfortunately, they dont have offices in Moscow or St Petersburg.
It will be nice to finally practice the language skills on the natives, rather than just listening to it cramped in some box somewhere.

(I was kind of hoping to get my hands on a Ural 2wd : ) )

I know that there are more important subjects than mine now. Buell company seems to die. I hope everything will be Ok.
But the live goes on.
And I would like to get your recommendation about hotels in Los Angeles. I am looking for an cheaper hotel in there. I do not need the hotel in downtown because : ) the rooms there are expansive.
So probably you can help me. I need to reserve a room for staying at night before flying there. Also there is one important remark. The hotel must has the security parking place where I can leave my rented bike.
I will thank you for any your recommendation.

Vasiliy
