Update from this post:
http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/406 2/402524.html?1252275964

Mom went through her chemo like a champ.. then her double mastectomy back in March, followed up by about 6 weeks of radiation.
She came out of that with flying colors.
She has been doing really well and gaining strength. Heck, 6 weeks ago my Wife, 2 year old Daughter, and myself all came up and we went to Dolly Wood and had a blast.

Mom suprised all of us by keeping up with Shelby (my daughter) all weekend.

Two weeks ago she started feeling dizzy, and her speech starting slurring.

It seems that the cancer has come back with a vengance. She has more tumors in her brain that you can count, along with a load of them in her lungs and liver.

She started today on the first of 16 rounds of radiation on her brain to hopefully get rid of the tumors.. then after that she is going to go through more chemo.. depending.

We definitely need some prayers for this one. It seems insurmountable to me right now... but only the Lord can determine what happens next.
If he wants her home... she will come home.

Really fast growing tumours can occasionally disappear just as fast with aggressive therapy, don't give up hope. They have made amazing progress against breast cancer in the last few years.

Prayers are with you all.

Thanks Hugh. She has been through a lot in her life.. namely.. me.. lol She has an unwaivering faith, and a tough core.

If he wants her home... she will come home.

Yeah, we come to know we are not in charge of these things.
She sounds like the type that will be right in there fighting this thing.

You folks are on my list tonight.

Prayers up, Godspeed to your mom's recovery.

My sis and I lost our Mom last November, unexpectedly, just days before Thanksgiving. She had already made the cornbread stuffing days in advance- really weird and sad to eat the last of her home cooking without her.

Not to wallow in self pity, pardon me- just to say that now more than ever, time is precious, priceless- make the most of it that you can with her daily, and leave as much worry as you can with God.

Thanks for all the well wishes.

86129squids, we are actually not far from you.
Mom and Dad live off of Happy Hollow Rd off 321 about 12-15 miles west of Pigeon Forge.
I think I may have seen you on your bike on my way in through Maryville on Friday. I saw a blue CityX heading west on 321 near the 129 intersection.
We have to drive all the way to Baptist West every morning for her treatments. Tomorrow, we have to be there at 6:30am for her liver biopsy.

Well, that's something! Russ, if you care to stop and have dinner sometime, I'm working evenings from 4pm Wednesday thru Saturday most weeks, at Puleo's in Alcoa.

This weekend I have plans to head to the Cherokee rally, ONLY IF my mechanic can get my Shovelhead back on the road.

DAMN I'm tired of not having a bike to ride. Much as I wish I WAS that guy on the CityX, t'wasn't me. I've been off the XB since the day after St. Patty's- bike's got a bottom-end death rattle, waiting on a motor swap. WAITING.

AAAARRGGGHHH

Anyhoo, I know that during stressful times, comfort food will help. Everyone needs to eat, and we serve great grub. Stop in anytime, maybe before too long we can get out shins to the wind and do some riding.

August 28th we lost a great friend after four 1/2 years, and 16 surgeries, she lost her battle with breast cancer.
During her fight she rode whenever she could, at one point even with broken ribs she rode on a tour through Colorado.
Sharon Delaney was tough and hard, but soft and sweet.
Yesterday a memorial ride was organized for her. Lots of bikers showed up and we took a ride into the mountains for her.

We will all miss her.

We spoke to the doctor yesterday.
Our goal now is to keep Mom comfortable as possible.
The doc stated that this is one of the most aggressive, and fast growing cancers he has ever seen. And that there is nothing further that can be done from a medical standpoint.

We are all here with her at the hospital, and if she is stable enough, they may move her to an in-patient hospice center.

Today is Mom's 67th Birthday. Happy Birthday Mom!

Thanks again for all of your support, well wishes, and prayers. It is all very much appreciated.

Mom has a strong faith. And her faith made me think of something yesterday...
I wonder if she is excited about her next journey? She isn't communicating with us, so I can tell. But I just have to wonder... She knows where she is headed, and I can't help but think that she is looking forward to getting there.

Happy Birthday Russ's mom!

I am optimistic that the outcome will be good and am praying that your mom makes a full recovery just as my mom did from her breast cancer. Didn't want to offend anyone with wishing for more to come.
