This kind of issue frustrates me, and causes me to wonder when the Green religion will be revealed as such and the separation of church and state concept will be applied and our children will no longer be required to listen to the Mother Earth propaganda. Not soon enough, I fear.

re-li-gion
–noun 1. a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

If you watched Beck tonight than you know its been revealed. In an audio clip from van jones himself saying that we will progress from capitalism to eco capitalism and so on. It was also revealed they knew exactly how radical he was per video clip of his senior adviser speaking about how they had been watching him and his work back when he was still in oakland. }

You have to watch some commentary but they have the woman that found the audio of van jones showing his true colors and the fact that the administration knows his true colors and doesnt care:

Every time I listen to the Prime Minister of the Socialist Union of America, Sorry POTUS I keep asking myself what is he going to do next. I need to listen to him longer but I am angered so much as he changes topics in mid statement that you can never get an answer from him, I just change channels. This is not smart on my part but between the auto industry, banking , stimulus programs, heathcare/insurance, the search for the person who posted the joker Obama for possible criminal charges and now this tape. Where is it going to end?

As I stated in a previous post that I believed has been deleted about what was the difference between the photo shopped picture of GWB as Hitler vs. the picture of Obama done up like the joker from the Dark Knight. was that in a free country it is free speech but in Socialist state it is criminal to mock or ridicule your leader. To me the picture of GWB as Hitler is much more inflametory on several layers.

I only hope we can survive until 2012 and a REAL CHANGE is made for the good of America

I would love to know what exactly in this video is propaganda?
Please tell me you are kidding. You are kidding, right?

Don't blame Mizzou.. I grew up near Columbia and it's a VERY liberal area.. especially for the midwest.

Watch this Obama crap and a Hitler Youth video back to back. The similarities are very interesting to say the least.

Hmmmmmm. Random thoughts regarding all this... I can see it as those Hollywood elitists and entertainers pledging to be a servant of the [current] president. I can see how many people follow the folks out west more than the news. We talked about this in sociology a few years ago, people believe what they see in the movies and on tv, and if the actors are saying something many will listen. That's a problem. Many have already said something to that effect.

Not so sure I want my six year old to see it, she's already getting the green indoctrination from the disney channel. I wanted the noise to be just that, but I'm not so sure after watching the vid. I'm all about recycling what we can and turning off lights and such, but this vid's got me scratching my head. Public service announcement from the POTUS or propaganda for the new movement/religion?

Sell my obnoxious car to buy a hybrid? Who's gonna buy it if we are all hugging the trees together?

I'm deeply concerned about the direction we've been headed as a nation and especially where this administration appears to be taking us now. We need to do something, I'll start with my congressman and senator I guess.

Reading the permission slip sent home for my daughter: "On Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 10:00am, President Obama will talk directly to students across the country on the importance of taking responsibility for their education, challenging them to set goals and do everything they can to succeed."

Reading this I'm all for the president encouraging the kids to set goals. I wish I could preview his address, because having watched the accompanying video concerns me, but the statement regarding what his planned topic leads me to encourage her to see the address.

What do you guys think?

I think I will attend the address with her, that way I can discuss with her anything that sets off alarms.

The video is a bunch of fluff with some weird political message mixed in.

It's an unestablished precedent from a President who won't reveal the message he intends to deliver and whose idea of leadership has been advocacy for more government.

Aren't schools crying, begging for parental involvement? Well, I'm a parent; include me in this discussion or else STAY AWAY FROM MY KIDS!

President Bush's address in 1991 was described in the same way, yet Democrats were in an uproar about misuse of federal funds in a recession to promote a 'political' agenda.

...apparently now that it's THEIR guy doing it (and I guarantee you Obama will not be able to resist slipping partisan political ideology and verbiage into the speech) it's OK.

I'm less angry about the address in general than I am the blatant hypocrisy. Kind of reminds me of Kennedy's deathbed flip-flopping regarding the laws in Massachusetts for replacing a Senator. Oh, well, when we have a REPUBLICAN governor, and thus a very good chance any replacement chosen by HIM will be a Republican, then we need to change the law to force a special election. Oh, but now, merely a few short years later we have a DEMOCRATIC governor, so the governor should choose the successor, and bypass the DEMOCRATIC PROCESS of an election.

Horseshit. Pure horseshit.

S1Mike... the crimnal charges against the Obama joker guy weren't because of the poster, they were because of the ultra-stick used to put the posters on public mailboxes and buildings. Simple vandalism. So there is plenty to get upset about, but not that one.

But before the lefties say "yeah, you idiots, it was vandalism", stop and take a deep breath, and think about what would happen if it was a Bush poster during the Bush years. It would *still* have been vandalism, but how many major newspapers (and perhaps leftist groups like the ACLU) would have been up in arms claiming it was a brave act of free speech, and that the prosecution was all about "the man" holding down this brave patriot.

So there really is a double standard, but I don't think that means conservatives should allow punk vandals to be made heros.

Use non permanent glue in your protests from now on ; )

Ya know, I don't let my kids watch ANYTHING I haven't already watched at least once. I think if more parents took that stance, more kids would be outside playing.

We watch Sesame Street, a lot of Noggin shows, and a lot of On-Demand PBS (some of the commercials, even on the Comcast PBS Sprout, are worse than the shows!)

What's my point? I'm getting to it!

The President doesn't get special dispensation from that. As a parent, I feel responsible for what my kids watch on TV. I'm rather at the schools' mercy on textbooks, but more on that in another thread.

Why is it so unreasonable for a parent to want to see what is being fed directly into our kids minds via eye-ball and sound-bite before it's viewed?

Isn't that what people have been saying we should do?

I would probably let the kids watch it, depending on how everything is presented. Again, they're missing the point.

Obama is so ARROGANT it probably never occurred to him that any parent would question his motives. It's pure hubris on his part that causes a lot of his problems, and breeds this distrust I have with him.

So no, he's no better than any other Disney or Nick Jr. show. I want my parental right to prescreen my kids viewing. And their denial of that basic parental right only makes me more distrustful.

Why not show a preview? What is the BFD???

Why not show a preview? What is the BFD???

You already know the answer, and it's the same reason that no one was allowed to read the full 'stimulus' bill(s), none of our beloved representatives took the time to read the whole HCR bill(s), and why the 'accountable', 'transparent' White House of this administration is anything but.

Funny...

It was written by a socialist in response to a contest designed to boost flag sales.

I wonder how people would react if the Pledge of Allegiance had first been introduced on Tuesday by the Obama administration.

Bill, folks were upset in '91. Folks are upset again now. 2 different Presidents. 2 different times. Same basic reasons.

From a conceptual standpoint, I think it's a good thing for POTUS to speak to all students in an attempt to reinforce the importance of excelling at their educational opportunities.

From a reality standpoint, and as a parent, I want to be able to at least review the material before it's presented to my children.

I wonder how people would react if folks actually did what they said they would.

P_squared, I agree with you on the preview standpoint.

I am pretty sure the video on Tuesday will be harmless motivational stuff with something close to zero political content, but I'm not showing it in my classroom until I preview it.

I watched the video associated with this thread too, but I decided it wasn't really appropriate for the classroom.

I'm on the moderate side of the Democratic Party on most issues, but I am extremely careful to present both sides of controversial topics to my students.

I just taught a unit on the Pledge and as usual, the kids had only the vaguest idea of what the pledge means even though they have been robotically repeating it since kindergarten.

Anyway, my break is over.

Off to brainwash more children with our secret agenda.

If however just the first step of speaking directly to youth and is a continuing monthly broadcast, y'all better get your books ready to burn, and learn to goose step.

Free children of a state unprecedented,
Today we sing our proud song
About the most powerful party in the world,
About our greatest man ever.

Surrounded with glory, soldered by will,
Grow stronger and live for eternity
The party of Obama, the party of Clinton
Wise party of Democrats!

You have created a country of last November,
The able Motherland of free people.
Our American state stands as rock
Born by your power and truth.

Rotten breeds of lowly treachery
You wipe from our way
You are the pride of the people, the wisdom of people,
the heart of the people and their conscience.

The sparking genius of your grand ways
Envisioned the future rise of the commune.
Pelousi has outlined us the road to the freedom
And great Obama is leading us through it.

humm it, you know the tune.
