Woodstock, in my mind, was an amazing event and I still love listening to the music, going to Bethel Woods, the story and the entire memory.

I wasn't there . . Erik was. Somewhere I have a picture of him with his hair down to his ass . . . great old times.

Yes it was~ In stark contrast to the little skirmish over making sure the French didn't look bad for dumping out on the Vietnamese.

As I approach another life marker, the 60's were what they were. What could one have expected out of a generation who learned in the 50's about duck and cover, how you could drink the water out of the back of your toilet tank in the event of a nuclear attack, dismissing school so all the kids could walk home because the bomb had fallen. How about the neighborhood bomb shelter salesman...or the pics from Los Alamos about the latest above ground "test" of a nuclear weapon... oh yeah, how about the Cuban Missle crisis and how we thought about Amageddn daily...

THEY ( our beloved Gov. ) up a generation, hippies were just a segment of the discontent in America, the times were not all Ward and June with Wally and the Beav.... but there were moments that showed how we could all get along and I am proud of the fact that a half a million strangers got together for tunes and whatever but nobody got killed!

There is no black wall in Bethel..

If I could, looking back, have chosen a year in which to be born I'd have not moved mine. I was about 3 years young for Woodstock, I was a sophomore in high school at the time cruising around in '57 Chevy, SS396 and GTO's, but man . . . what a GREAT time.

No regrets

Yeah, would not change mine either, first ride was a 62 Vette, bought it for 500 bucks! Then I sold it and got a 66 Malibu SS396 that I was in love with until I bought my 67 GT 350 Shelby. When I came back I put in a roller cammed Holman & Moody Boss 302 into the GT. Sold the Shelby to pay for my first honeymoon and marriage.

Only regret is learning to kill another human being that I did not even know for a country that didn't care.

Zakir Hussein's father was Alla Rakah Kahn! Duh. I just figured this out!

Alla Rakah Kahn was Ravi Shankar's percussionist at Woodstock! Ravi Shankar influenced western music through George Harrison and other cool cats!

Ravi Shankar has given the world Norah Jones.

Yeah, I'm a sucker for a jazzy chanteuse:

From a 20 something guy trying to raise a family with "old hippies" at the the wheel of the Gov., thanks alot for the contributions to deteriorate the society and morality of the United States.

Honestly, we could have done without it. It was an irresponsible generation and hippies smell bad to boot.

Neo-hippies maybe. Dreadlocks are disgusting.

I shower every day, use deodorant and brush my hair and my teeth.
Oh yeah, I trim my beard too.

Whatever.

I won't believe "old hippies" run the government until pot is legal and alcohol isn't.
