Everything was going great. Tools were re-organized, work area swept out, transmission out, frame off, swingarm removed, all in a matter of hours. I stopped to think, "wow, this is going really well this time. Nothing has broke or fallen over and it's sure gone quick this time." Just as I finished that thought, I stepped on the corner of the drain pan and put 2.5 quarts of well used SYN3 all over the place, soaking my shoe, and splashing up my entire leg. Then I pinched my finger hard enough to take a chunk out. Then a wrench slipped and busted up a few knuckles. That was a good time to quit for the night!

At least the oil wasn't hot. I think everyones done that at least once. I fumbled the pan with the hot oil once while wearing my mechanics gloves. Burnt my fore arm and hand, the stupid glove wouldn't come off. 5 quarts of Texas Tea all over my garage. The one good thing is my little dog who's always at my side was sitting on his folding chair next to my toolbox. I tranied him to stay on the chair while were in the garage. 85% of the time he stays when I tell him.

when my son was 3(he's 22 now) and we were staying with my folks while i finished up their house for them, he decided he was going to clean up the garage. he used every bit of used oil that was around, probably around 5 or 6 quarts and a couple new quarts to do it with. things were just a little to quiet during that time that he was out in the garage. i should have known better. but i know what it's like to be there. better luck next time.
