New: 01 M2L 01 Blast Bought at Classic HD/Buell Reading, PA 15 min from home (Traded in 99 FXD. It was the first Twin Cam Classic ever got, and it died on the road the first day I owned it.) Traded both in on a new 03 XB9R at Classic (their first one). Traded that one in on a 03 XB9S (their first one). Bought M2L back from Classic (off ebay!) Traded M2L (and a ton of cash!!!) on a new Springer. Bought an immaculate used 98 S1W from Schaeffers HD/Buell, Orwigsburg, PA (250 miles away, I now live in PGH) They sent me pics of the bike and I bought it without riding it, that's trust! Bought a used 01 Blast from a private party in Canton, OH (2 hours away) Traded 9S in on a Uly at Schaeffers HD/Buell (their first one!) I sent pics to several dealers in eastern PA after my local dealers all gave me that arrogant HD 'attitude'. Schaeffers gave me the best price. Bought a used 03 XB9S from a private party (advertised on the BadWeb) in Brighton, MI and ran into a couple badwebbers there! Sold Blast to private party (thru BadWeb) What I've learned... Lesson #1: It's fun to have the newest of the new but with Buell AND HD that often means putting up with the early 'flaws', and for Buell it means paying top dollar and getting beat up at trade-in time. Lesson #2: The used Buells I've bought have been at great prices and made up for the earlier losses. Lesson #3: It pays to travel far to a dealer you trust for sales or service. Lesson #4: It pays to drive for a deal on a good used Buell. Would I do anything diff? I prob would have kept every bike I ever bought, but that's about it! Bret | ||

1998 S1 New in June 2001 (sitting on the floor for 4 years) Procycle-HD or Halifax, NS who are now Privateers HD 1998 S3 Used from Ottawa HD/Buell in June 2006 35,000km I have to add that there is no HD/Buell Retailer here on the island. Both bikes were bought sight unseen apart from pictures. The first bike was 1600km from home and an 6hr boat ride, The second bike was about 3000km away with the same 6hr boat ride. Both bikes were ridden home without incident. | ||
