..do most/many of you have two bikes??..the reason I ask is..I've got the desire for something bigger, rode a sweet 03 Road King for a test, but I just don't think I could handle that as my only ride.. ..I need the Lightning to take the edge-off..ya know?? thoughts? | ||

last year i road the 03XB9s about 3,000 miles my 06Triumph Thruxton for 2,300 miles and my 02 Road King for about 500 miles. the small single seat bikes are soooo much fun i hardly use the road king anymore. Nice on long rides w/passanger other than that it sits in the garage behind the other 2 bikes. | ||

I have never in my life ever wanted a Harley, but FLH's and Superglides are looking kinda good to me now. I rode a friend's brand new 07 Road King and I almost didn't bring it back. | ||

I'm going the other route. I have an S1 Lightning and want to get something smaller. Hopefully this summer will see me on a Suzuki DR650 supermoto. I have enough money in parts in my S1 to have purchased a new XB12, but I wouldn't trade 'er for anything. | ||

'98 Bourget '00 Road King '06 Uly I enjoy having bikes for different uses as in bar hopping, 2 up touring, 1 up touring/commuting/spirited riding respectively. I highly recommend the Road King for 2 up riding especially with the big bore kit. Frank | ||

This house has two Buells. The '99 M2 is referred to as "the girlfriend" and the 06 Uly is "the wife". Carlos considered selling the M2, but my thought was its paid for and it has a difference personality than the Uly, so keep it. Of course, he still wants more! | ||

Multiple motorcycles are one of the truely great pleasures in life. I've sold a car to make room for more motorcycles. Now that I have a three car garage I can add even more or maybe a shop area to do my own maintenance. If I hadn't had more than one motorcycle I could never have let Ferris run my ULY to Ca last year and I never would have met Peter Fonda. Life is better with extra motorcycles. Get as many as you can. | ||

I currently have 2 bikes. 05 Lighthing (put around 9.6k last year) 98 Suzuki VZ800- Metric Cruiser (around 4.5k last year) Having the cruiser was nice for when my wife wanted to go for a ride, and we had some nice ones. The Buell is my bike, for when I am out riding by myself. I will probably be getting rid of the Marauder this year as we are expecting our first and Leslie has told me she will not be riding again till the kids are older, so might as well get rid of it (we where planning on getting a bigger bike before baby fever hit). So once the kids get older, we will have at least 2 bikes. One comfy long distance road sofa type one for touring, and one sportier/hooligan type one. | ||

Two bikes: A 2006 Buell XB12Ss for solo touring, sport riding and overall misbehaving and a 1999 BMW K1200LT for long distance riding with my honey and occasional grocery shopping (can get a week's worth of groceries EASILY into all of those bags). | ||

Back in the day, I used to keep a few different mounts for different uses: 1. Roadracing: usually some sort of Italian Lightweight single, preferably a Ducati. 2. Scrambles: Greeves type of thing: English two stroke 250. 3. English sporting iron : Velocette 500 cc or Norton 4. Everyday riding: BMW R69S - the only type of bike that would run every day back then. 5. VW van to carry them around it. Nowadays, I just have one motorcycle, an XB12Sr, and a Jeep and trailer. I think I have learned that if you put all your effort into one machine, you'll be happier. Sort of like they say in the shooting world, "beware the man who only owns one gun". I do all my touring with the bike on the trailer. It's a bitch getting old.  | ||

At one time I had an 89 Sportster 1200, an 82 1100 Gold Wing Aspencade and a 72 CB350 and I alternated taking them to work every day with the Wing doing the groceries. I loved it. But when I bought a house and sold the 1200 and 350, I became very, very proficient at riding the Wing to the point that I could do really silly things with it in corners and at slow speeds. There's a lot to be said about having one bike and riding the hell out of it. On the other hand, when the cars are paid for in four years I'll be looking for either a Bonnie with bags and windshield for touring or a Lightning Long and I WILL keep the Blast. | ||

'02 Road King...that's my science project. Only need a couple of more exhaust cans and I can completely fence my property with chrome pickets. Got the Uly as backup and love it. The Harley is currently making about 100 rear wheel ft/lb torque , so the performance dropoff is not nearly as great as a stocker. Really pulls nice two up!! | ||

06 Road King & 07 XB12SCg. Had a 01 Sportster 1200 I traded on the XB, and also had a Vulcan Mean Streak until recently. Have owned Nortons, Ducati's, Cagiva's, Honda's & Kawasaki's in the more distant past. And the TZ250 race bike. Have always had multiple bikes it seems. | ||

Along with my Buell, I still have my old Yamaha 550 Seca, it'll qualify for a "collector" plate this summer! But since the garage actually still had room enough to turn around in, my wife and I bought a 78 Triumph Spitfire this past fall...that fixed any "excess room" problems we were having in the ol' garage...  It qualifies for "collector" plates, too! | ||

I agree...I need many     But do what you feel like...see bikes are like women..truly 1. They are all beautiful in some way...nice front end, sweet looking fat tail..nice lines... 2. You want to ride everyone you see...regardless of what you tell your friends or will be seen on in public..ie..you may not want that Honda Helix in your garage...but you WILL take it around the block to see how it handles. 3. They will all break down on you...self explanatory.. 4. They will all cost you more than they are worth...again self explanatory 5. If you knew how to turn them on they will let you ride them and not really care what your name is... So just think if it as building a Harem..that will justify about any abuse of your credit rating or savings account.  | ||
