Ed - Welcome to the wine country. Been living in Sonoma for 11yrs now. Great riding area. Check out Chili valley, Pope valley and Butts canyon - great rides right in your back yard and will make you forget all about HWY 29. Been too busy this summer building our new house to do any pleasure riding. Should be done in March so hopefully summer of '07 I'll get to make up for some lost time. Stay in touch and we may be able to do some exploring. Bryan |

You have the Grade as well - Cort C. is quoted as saying that the Oakville Grade is one of the most technical roads in the US - sure is fun - I took Jlnance through that piece of fun - sweet, however 9 from 35 to 85 is a sweet piece and more technical - yes - welcome -you are now living in motorcycle heaven - enjoy! not sure where your at but spent 4 months a couple summers ago in ukiah ca. which i know is north of the napa area and there wasn't a bad road to ride on up there. u are not missing nothing of the dragon if your on those roads. been through the dragon a couple times also and i would have to say it's the next best thing to northern cal. |

Yes, it was a sweet road EZ. The sinkhole in the middle of the lane leading down the side of a cliff only added to the excitement. |

I live 4 miles from Butts Canyon have not ridden it yet, where is Oakville grade? How about Chili Valley and Pope Valley? I am just outside Middletown. Anyone riding Hwy 29 should check our Spruce Grove Road, 9 mile loop off 29, fresh pavement and very few cars. This road is a roller coaster with several places to get air. |

Oakville is just south of Calistoga - connects 29 to 121/128 - Pope and Chilli are great roads also - hit Pashnit.com for a definitive list - I cut my teeth out there - you'll love all of them and the cool stuff North of you is worth the trip as well! Yes - even with the weirder Northern climate - year round riding on paradisaical roads are yours! GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

TA, look at all the roads from Middletown heading east towards Berryessa--- pretty much anything that has "Canyon" or "Valley" in it. Look all around Berryessa,Ink Grade Rd, Redwood Road, all around Angwin. I live just NW of Vacaville with all of these just out the door. Superbike races at Infineon in May. Great dealer in Vallejo. Then head west on all the connectors to Highway 1, Stewarts Pt Rd is fantastic. |

Firemanjim, Lets ride! I really look forward to riding thru the winter on anyday that is mostly dry and remotely warm. I also really enjoy riding in the city, it feels like my bike was made for Frisco. Ed |
