Man, what a $hitty way to start things off, I get up and decide to go into work early cause I got to take friday of and on my way in WAMM, I get rear ended by a damn kid in a POS caddy. Im really glad I have to run some errands at lunch and took my jeep this morning. my jeep looks relatively unharmed, there are like 3 marks in the unpainted bumper cover but will most likely have it looked at and replaced just to spite the dumba$$ fr not paying attention. The killer was that I had watched the kid in my mirror late brake several time and I had said to myself "man he’s going to hit me" and less then a mile from where I said that he did. DAMIT this really blows. Sorry to vent guys just had to let off some steam and I really can’t go on the rampage that I want to in my cubicle

Glad to hear you're OK. If nobody's there yet, a scream might help cool things out!

Man, I know just how that feels.

A couple of years ago during my morning commute, I watched a moron behind me reading sales sheets or the newspaper or something in his lap as we were in solid bumper-to-bumper traffic. He spent more time looking down at whatever it was than he did looking out of his windshield. Every time I'd stop I'd look up and he'd stop at just the last instant. After about 10 repeats of this, sure enough, BAM!- right into the back of my truck. He immediately jumped out of his car apologizing profusely. I looked at my rear bumper and saw nothing obvious and said "No harm done but man, you NEED to quit reading and watch where the hell you're driving!" I'll bet he didn't make it to the next stoplight before he started reading whatever was in his lap again. Thankfully, I got away from him in traffic shortly after that.

Of course we all sympathize with anyone who gets rear ended.

That being said, I am always amazed by the number of stories we read about people who are hit by someone they already spotted as being a bad driver, or even just being in a place where they could cause an accident.

PLEASE, MY BROTHERS, DO NOT GIVE ANYONE A CHANCE TO KILL YOU!! OK?

If you can see a person, DO NOT BET YOUR LIFE ON THEM DOING THE RIGHT THING?

Defensive driving. OK?

You are the only one, and the only one, who is responsible for your continued existence on the planet, and the proper operation, maintenance, modification and appearance of your Buell.

Am I right, my brothers?

Whew, been wanting to get that one off my chest for quite awhile!

I got rear ended by a truck a couple of years ago, I was in my DOT vehicle! The truck driver gets out and says "Aw Crap! I really hit the wrong guy!" After inspecting his truck I found his brakes were way out of adjustment! He couldn't have stopped if he wanted to!

Sometimes drivers do things intentionally to spite other driver (riders) too. Did you ever have a driver try to squeeze you out of your lane?

I did last Saturday exiting the fwy when I encountered a long line of cars queued up for a signal at the bottom of the ramp. One driver left a car's length space from the car ahead, so I just slipped in ahead of her on the right bumper of the car ahead. So, when traffic started inching forward, she starts creeping up along side me and starts veering into my path, forcing me over to the curb. I couldn't believe what she was trying to do.

After I calmed down from the momentary adrenaline rush, during which I imagined kicking her door panel or breaking her mirror that came within inches of my left glove, I did what I should've done. Went around all the traffic and waited for the light to change at the front of the line. Lesson learned.

As I passed her, the dang lady looked like a seriously-intent redneck grannie from the Beverly Hillbillies, too. IMHO, such characters should not be allowed to watch NASCAR on TV and think they can drive like that in public. Levity I know, but there could be a connection, ya think?
