I'd had the Crud Run on the calendar too, since I've been a hermit this year to most of you guys. The 'Bolt is in the shop for a warranty replacement stator, I can tell you that these bikes are a pain in the ass to bump start and it takes Ferris's experience to do it right. Can't wait to see the pics! I move into my place Thursday, and we'll for sure do a Mississippi River ride in the Spring along with a bonfire and some brews at the new joint. Prior |

...and it takes Ferris's experience to do it right. what it takes is a fat ass (mine!) loading the seat at the right time. FB |

The slimey Crud Run was awesome! Brew City BRAG met up with the Windy City BRAG group in Monona. Bomber led us on some fantastic roads from Pine Bluff to leland. It seems our little group picked up some people along the way that didn't seem to appreciate the little u-turn we needed to make at an unexpected dead end(both mine, and Bombers GPS said the road went thru). There was only one road that kinda sucked. covered with sand in areas. Had a few butt pucker moments on that one : ) Thanks again Bomber! And thanks to the Windy City group. On the way home, a possum decided to sacrifice itself to my S3 : ) You guys all missed out! |

Dave -- how was the hunting? Great weather for the Crud -- unusual, to say the least -- HUGE darned turnout -- we took a slightly different route that avoided the squids, and only had a lil trash on the road (think of it as character building!) next time, I'm gettin a vest that says "DO NOT FOLLOW ME!" on the back -- there musta been 30 bikes behind me when we hit the dead end . . . . . . |

Bomber, I think the dead end was awesome. I know it made me laugh and it also builds character. Thanks again for leading us from Monona and again from Pine Bluff. I had a really great time. No, I didn't lose my Dad this year. It was great seeing everyone again. Hope to see everyone again soon. Maybe next time I won't be one of the only Women there. Toni |

Too bad we missed you Fiery and CJ. We ran into Heather in Leland. She was wondering if CJ was riding with us and was disappointed when we told her that she wasnt with us. As usual the crud run didnt disappoint. Bomber led us on great routes. Cant wait for the spring. Matt |

Well I hate we missed all you guys, but it was a great ride up and the weather was AWESOME, and I hate to say it was kind of nice to sleep in and still do the run, 8:00 AM sheesh !! On another note, we didn't get home until dark, had so much fun riding we didn't notice it was getting later and later !! But we ain't never been scared of the dark, or the rain, or the cold, or even riding a bike into a sand pit during a stupid moment (well one dummy anyway), right fiery !! LOL CJ |

Prior is a wimp... Why you ask? Well I rode down to Madison from Appleton Saturday morning. When I got to Madison I discovered that MY STATOR had died. So I pushed started my heavy M2 (extra few punds of bling ha ha) and went on to Pine Bluff. I did skip the ride, but enjoyed talking to a few Buellers before they headed out. By the way, PRIOR IS NOT A WIMP, I was just kidding and it made my story even more fun. Seems we are both suffering from Statoritis. P.S. I mad it back to Appleton on just battery power. I unpluged my headlight and as I was riding I started loosing other devices... Brake lights, speedo, then finally the tach. Final reading on the battery when I got home was 6.5 volts. BIG REGRET OF THE DAY - not being able to ride to Leeland EVEN BIGGER REGRET OF THE DAY - When you want to ride 120 miles home and you know you have to tank up somewhere since you no longer have a trip meter, don't lock your gas tank. After staring at the key I reluctantly turned off the bike and unlocked the cap thinking, "why did I lock that anyway?". It took two pushes to get the bike restarted at that gas station! My bump start average of the day was 3 for 4... Not bad eh? |

Had I not taken the frikin thing to the shop, I would have been there. I dropped it off Friday and got Ralph's email about the crud run when I got back to work. I have the Cyclone in the garage too, but it wasn't registered or plated, and really didn't want to run that risk... But, they're both legal now, so I have backup. And I am a wimp. Never had to bump start the Buell before, but now I know what it takes- Gentleman Jim and a liquor store. |
