Dang Dora! Can't imagine a lung going flat! I'd UPS you some surplus Vicodin but I think there might be issues... Take care and yeah, it's really good to see you posting up after an ugly get-off... and hey, you've got monster credibility now! |

Hey, Dora. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Boredom is sometimes the worst part. Don't be shy about letting any of know what we can do to help. As for hiring a Chippendale, I'm sure you'd have plenty of volunteers. What a week! You crash, Nils' cat dies... I've never met Julian, but I wish him the best, as well! From what I gathered at the Track, Julian was going into Turn 3 and was hit from behind as well. Gearhead, from the Badweb didn't see the hit, but saw him kart wheel off the Track. He was not looking too good last I saw of him. I hope he's doing ok. I haven't heard anything since. PLEASE! If anyone knows, PLEASE PM me the info. I know he was only thinking about doing a hand full of races this year, but he was doing so well, he was, as Dora stated, leading or in the Top 3 of the the points in his classes. I hope you both heal up good as knew and are back in the game soon. Like I said, you will be sorely missed in the pits. Please don't let this scare you away if you truly enjoy it. |

Hey Dora, If there is anything I can do for you let me know. I have some really good pain killers and some pretty good strategies for coping too. Patricia recommends either a motocross (gold belt) kidney belt or an elastic "lift belt" to keep your ribs stable...and as said before, avoid the hiccups and comedy central I know the corner workers are volunteers but they should have been flying a blue/yellow for you, and the expert should have been able to see that he was overtaking and taken appropriate action/line/speed. I HATE senseless crashes. I do appreciate the fact he helped you while the ambulance was inbound and he came by the pit, I guess I just expect more from an expert racer, as far as riding skills go. There is more to being an expert racer than just being fast. |

Julian home and resting, collarbone, lots of bruises elsewhere. Crashes,.... well it seemed the competition was tight at BHF, especially Sunday. The riders were bunched up fighting for positions, and when you corner together at speed......a slight change in your line...... Get well BG & Julian, we'll be there when your ready to go! Heartland Park this weekend! |

hey everyone - where's my chippendale househelper? he hasnt shown up yet latest update. went to doc yesterday, had another set of x-rays, punctured lung is stable, everything else is the same amount of sore, bruised and broken, i was cleared to take vicodin and muscle relaxants, so now i'm feeling blurry and dizzy, but the pain is muted. told to stay home til another checkup wednesday (tomorrow) and another round of chest x-rays to make sure the punctured lung is still behaving. i'm not mad about the crash or the rider who crashed into me. just, of course, wish it didnt happen. sounds like he helped me out immediately post-crash when i really needed it, and for that, i am very thankful. even *i've* been behind people who were slower (more so at track days and not at the races) who i had to really back off of to avoid hitting - so i'm sure that by lap 5 or 6 of a 7 lap race, he was fully pumped up with adrenalin and just couldnt react in time to amateur slower rider me. i'm also practicng hanging off the bike (as those of you who've seen pics from jennings know), so my transition into corners isnt the smoothest. its more get there, think about it, move off seat, stick knee out, then dive into corner. so if he hadnt been following me around for a few corners, he wouldnt know thats what i was doing and wouldnt have been able to guess where i was going. not that it makes it right by any means, but i can comprehend what happened. back to my trashy magazines and pain pills, D |

Crashing sucks! Sorry you were forced into an argument with the asphalt Dora. Darn stuff is stubborn as heck. You had some nice symmetry going for you pre-crash. Hope you heal quickly, well and symmetrically too. Pain pills are good. |

well. back to doc today. another set of chest x-rays. lung is behaving. told to do more breathing exercises to keep pneumonia away. told doc they hurt like hell, and she just smiled and shrugged doc ordered physical therapy to help with all the soreness in my neck and shoulder, and also some of the weird chest muscle overcompensation for my ribs being whacked. big ol road rash on my elbow from the friction of sliding across the asphalt is not healing well, had to go get super special gauze that keeps burn wounds moist for it. leathers held up exceptionally well, again... off work for the rest of this week. doc gave tentative ok to go back part-time next week. i'm officially on "short-term disability" for being off for 5 days. sounds weird, doesn't it? funny story - got flowers from work, but i couldnt make it off the couch and hobble to the door in time before they left, so i had to call them and have them redeliver today. argh. pretty flowers though. looks like i'm on my couch through monday, so anyone that wants to email or call, please do, i'm bored out of my mind (when not in a pain-med-induced stupor sleeping) ugh.
