Josh, i don't know what happened to your Quick Board topic. IF it got yanked (i just looked in the Depository and couldn't find it), the custodian who nuked it should have sent you a brief note explaining why. your "Icon War" flash video is stupid, in my opinion, but not worthy of being deleted. maybe i didn't watch it long enough... your "non-sponsor" link above seems to be a bad address - ??? Custodians don't HAVE to respond to anybody. However, they usually notify as a courtesy when something is pulled. As a rule, I have not, mostly due to not wanting to take the time. So who should have recieved a response? You? On the other question, your link doesn't seem to be working. Anybody got Rolaids? | ||

A thread about a Buell t-shirt unavailable from any sponsor was pulled within minutes. An explicit advertising thread by a non-sponsor (along with several threads by members about said non-sponsor) were allowed for at least a week. I'm tired of looking for threads not knowing if I've simply forgotten where they are or they have been pulled by moderators who thought they were "stupid". This was a site where cursing was not allowed. Then inappropriate images. Then slander about sponsors. Then positive things about non-sponsors. then anything about non-sponsors then anything the moderators decided that they they didn't particularly like What next? How soon until all posts are preapproved? Kind of hard to get "involved" when standing on shifting sands. I'd like to answer the guy's question on where to get product x or the best solution for problem y, but I don't have time to check to see which sponsor (if any) carries the product, nor to carefully phrase a response if a sponsor doesn't yet I know who does. | ||

Is this thread for real or should it be divided up into new threads? I would think new threads are in order as not much, if anything, relates to Court's departure. Now, don't get me wrong. I wish he were still on the BWB, but that isn't up to us mere mortals. So let the powers that be work it out and let's move along to higher ground. Life's a roller coaster. Enjoy the ride! | ||

Josh, Sometimes things get overlooked and sometimes they don't. Custodians for the most part have other things going on as you know, like jobs and personal commitments. Depending on the circumstances, it is entirely plausible that something stayed longer than it normally should have. As a side note, you sound crabby. Whiney actually. Listen friend, if all this is too much for you just take a break. What with the shifting sounds and all I know Badweb can be a bit treacherous. As your custodian, I'm recommending a glass of warm milk and some cookies. Nighty night. Anybody got Rolaids? | ||

Dude chill...your like negitive vibes are all over - lol - that was humor - could and would apply as easily to myself - missed the thread - I am an avid reader - I keep 14 screens open at work - some for work - and do the books - lol - at home between chores and hobbies - my bikes and hiking - I keep 12 boards up and still only spend marginal time on the Quick Board- its just words - there is too much tying of importance here to words. We are about bikes here - specifically Buells - everything else should be with a grain of salt, and faith in man, and a smile - lol - please no choking on coffee Got Thump?! I'd like to know who culled my thread because it bothers me to put effort into something and have it deleted without explanation or justification. Seems logical to me that the pertinent 'perception' should be that of the topic originator, and not some arbitary conclusion of a moderator, based on his or her 'perception'. That's why. | ||

Josh, You are nit-picking plain and simple. We do our best and that's all you're going to get. No apologies, no promises. If it's that bad in your mind don't log on. As far as the "mask of anonymity", I for one do not care who knows and who does not about my actions as a custodian. It's just not that big of a deal. Apparently, you and Paul have discussed these pressing issues and have reached a consensus. I'm afraid my position stands. These "issues" are being blown out of proportion by overly dramatic phrases such as "shifting sands" and "mask of anonymity". Your connection with the issue at hand is known. Don't come around here acting like an objective critic when you are about the business of stirring the pot. All, Please take note of my comments. Nobody here including myself is a perfect custodian or can be. Neither are the community members here. It is not an exact science it is a best effort subjective affair. Those who want to find fault will continue to do so. I have no plans for satisfying such complaints. But the doors are wide open. The nitpickers would have you think that Badweb is a place where you cannot argue, flame, or be a liberal. They advertise these accusations in their complaints. Flame on, disagree, etc... just don't get personally psycho and don't step on the house rules. Most of the folks here are regulars who are not in the business of constantly testing the perimeter and I'm thankful. If you really don't like Badweb...well you have choices. Too much time has been spent on examining the system rather than "riding" it. As to the original subject at hand, Court is able to stride in here anytime he wishes and will be welcomed like anyone else, no explainations needed when that day arrives. He was an American and a Bueller last time I checked. End of story. I said end of story. Please let Blake and Court strike fellowship in their own time. No news at 11. Anybody got Rolaids? | ||

i don't post much in these types of threads often for one reason. everybody seems to lose. however, sarcasm from moderators in regards to corrective issues would seem to be an undesireable response from all aspects. sarcasm in regular postings not having moderator issues are understandeable. just my .02. Maybe Blake needs an influx of new custodians. I have to agree with Josh on this one. You guys are giving him crap but can't seem to take any yourselves. You hide behind the mask of "sarcasm" as an excuse.. Ah the life of a moderator. If you're all so busy, stop doing it. Would I want to do it? Hell no. however, sarcasm from moderators in regards to corrective issues would seem to be an undesireable response from all aspects. agree 100%. we've got to continually be "bigger" than what we read, and act accordingly. like it or not, the utmost in maturity should be a prerequisite for being a custodian on a bulletin board. with that, i apologize to Josh for my "stupid" comment about the "Icon War" flash video. that was not called for. last night it sounded ok to me, this morning it doesn't, and i'm sorry. the rest of my reply to you stands. fellow custodians: nobody likes a "bad" cop. or a "sarcastic" cop. we need to weigh our words carefully, EVERY time we speak, and always endeavor to be "good" cops. like it or not, that responsibility comes with the territory.
