I don't think Blake owes US an explanation. Blake has his reasons no matter what we think of themn, Blake seems to be sticking to his guns which means he treats nobody better than another which is good. I have made posts about my Buell club and it has been deleted because I am not a paying sponsor, so be it, I don't pay nor will I. I think Blake *does* owe us an explanation. I'm not a frequent poster, but I do read every day. There is entirely too much deference to Blake around here. I understand that it is "his" board. But it is *our community* the board is just a piece of technology, the community is invaluable. As such, when Blake makes a decision like this that affects the community he owes us an explanation. |

I think Blake *does* owe us an explanation. Bullshit he does. Would you care to explain this? Blake owes you nothing. If Blake was to "take his ball and go home", he'd be rightful in doing so. He provides this place with the help of sponsors, and volunteer custodians. No one else. He owes you nothing, if anyone here owes anyone anything, y'all owe Blake, yet, he's always the bad guy. Give the guy a break, a little support to the guy that started all this and keeps it going (you have no idea how difficult it can be) as a free service to you, goes a long way. Just a little support, like a "way to go Blake, I really enjoy, and get a lot from your web site", would mean the world to him I'm sure. Yet you think he owes you? |

So this guy donates a piece of land for a community garden. Pretty soon a motley crew starts showing up. The plant vegetables and fruit trees and put together lots of tips a tricks on how to troubleshoot and fix problem plants. Some of the people are experts at soil preparation, some know the best way to graft branches together. Some know nothing at all about gardening but enjoy the others company. One guy in particular tells great stories, helps out where he can, organizes meetings and makes sure that when there are problems with the seed manufacturer that the problems are addressed in fastest possible way. After listening to his wonderful stories for over a year, and appreciating the help he has given you you show up one day to find he has been told he can no longer come around. He has been told this by the land owner. Do you just shut up and determine that the owner knows best? Or do you ask for and expect an explanation? |

i think all i have to say on this subject is that an honest answer from someone so that people know what happened will stop a lot of assuming and bickering which we already have a hard time keeping a handle on lately. |

i'm a custodian here, and probably the second-oldest active member of BADWEB, but i can't speak for Blake. the issues at hand are complex, and i cannot, and will not, expound on them. Blake's heart is in the right place, i believe, and i doubt anyone besides Blake knows how tough it can be to maintain the world's largest and most successful Buell-oriented website to strict, demanding standards. i reckon Blake will step up at some point and speak out on recent events. ride to lean, Ferris |

Glitch relax my friend...Blake and Court have both done lots for this community. We'd like that to continue to exist if at all possible. I though do know some of whats going on but also have chosen to stay neutral. I hope this works its self out some day and the persons and old friends one day realize that friendship is the most important. |

I love this site and having been banned twice so far I can safely say Blake is a man with a complex ethic. He has pretty strict rules but to me he has been fair as both times I was banned I was warned first and in violation of BWB policy. Both times I refused to back down until I got access denied screens. I then took a couple of days to think about Blakes reasons and followed up with an apology. IMO Blakes policies are a little heavy handed but I see the reasons behind it. I see way to many boards where hostilities have developed over nothing important. In fact there are a couple of people on another board that should we ever meet in person the results will be bloody. Blake runs this place like a quality bar. I think he wants to develop a community where people do not have the chance to hate each other over petty internet B.S. This makes it easier to meet up at outside Buell events and get along (at least for awhile). Court and Blake will probaly sort this out. Hell I had a buddy I did not talk to for five years once. However, the reasons behind the banning and obvious disagreement are no ones business but their own. Just my 25 cents (damm inflation). |

I was surprised to read this thread and realize that it was not simply rumor. Whatever the issue is, I hope that Blake and Court will work out for themselves. While it's always hard when friends come to such an impasse or have such a disagreement that it hinders the friendship, it harder to have it happen in such a public way. Let's give them each their space and recognize that this is a personal issue, not a BadWeb issue. Give them each the respect and courtesy they deserve by not asking "what happened?". This is between them, interference may only complicate things. |

Do you just shut up and determine that the owner knows best? So, if I read your publicly accessible web page/blog, I have a say in how you maintain it? Is that how it works? Or is it just the most popular ones have to come under some special scrutiny? We'd like that to continue to exist if at all possible. I would too. But to *demand* is not my place, nor anyone else's. |

Well, I now have a new site bookmarked above BadWeb. Blake built this place, and if wants to kill it he will. Driving good people away is a great way to start that process. |

Can I reply? . . . or do I need to be a sponsor first? How unfortunate Court could hold the BadWeB in such contempt on Sacborg. Rocket |

That is not contempt, that is humor. Something that seems to be missing here. I frequent a lot of sites, and some of them are supported by sponsors. Never have I been to any other site where there is so much drama about the sponsorship issue. Hopefully things will change and we can get all the value of a great Buell community without all the drama. |

Let it roll guys. Things will work out. Sometimes stuff happens and sometimes stuff happens that is better left alone until the appropriate parties work it out. Please do not think you know what's up, what happened, who's fault etc., because you most likely don't. It's best not to jump to conclusions, flame anybody, or similar stuff. |

Hey, I started this thread because I saw the info last night. I don't really know what happened to cause the problem, nor do I really care. Drama? What drama? If this is that important to you, you need to get out more often. I'll just keep tabs on both sites. Is it anyone business but Blakes or Courts? No. Obviously something has been building and it finally came to a full head of steam. Personally, I won't miss all the "That is an inacurrant/accurant statement" junk. The World will go on. Just seemed kind of weird when I saw that on the SacBORG, that's all. |

Whatever motivates Blake to run this board in the manner he does, whether you like it or not, it has only one goal in mind and that goal is BadWeB's survival. That's it. Nothing else. He doesn't use the place as his personal soap box. Doesn't take a wage nor gifts for running the place. Nothing. Not a thing. Just a simple set of rules that maintain the BadWeB. That and Blake's integrity to stand by those rules no matter what, in an effort to keep the BadWeB alive, and alive with a clear conscience dedicated towards those that sponsor the BadWeB. That cannot be an easy task by anyones standards. The BadWeB I'm sure gives Blake some heartache, but never more so when those who seek to promote their own agenda, politically, financially or just to blow their own trumpet, shit on him from a great height. My heart goes out to Blake whilst those back stabbing bastards feed their own pockets and egos. Frankly, the world's a better place without turncoats. Blake mate, you've got guts. Rocket |

I thought this thread was a joke as well, and was sorely disappointed when I found it was true. I've defended Blake a few times since I've been here, I believe he is a quality guy whose head is in the right place, and is the only one truly keeping this site running. Court, by just about anyones account, has got to be one of the most influential people in the Buell community. His mechanical expertise, long stories, and quirky humor, have led him to being well-respected on Badweb. His contributions go well beyond the numbers I know how to count to. I don't know what happened, and I know Blake had to have had a damn good reason, but surely Court could get away with a good reprimand. You don't sentence a guy to death for speeding, do you? My two cents, and the only thing I will say on this. If you disagree, please don't turn it into a personal thing. |

DISCLAIMER:We still don't know what was said to Court and how often, so we can't say what happened or didn't. EXACTLY! For all we know Court picked *his* ball up and went home. No one has said he was banned, not even Court, he's actually kind of skipped around the subject when asked, true to Court form. Keeps 'em guessin'! |

I am one of those Badwebber's that sit on the fringes all the time. Buying my Bolt was one of the best decisions I have ever made. But at the same time I scrimp from paycheck to paycheck to pay for my bike and the things it takes to ride. When I go to buy tires I have to plan ahead for weeks. That said, Court has been nothing but helpful and without even knowing me he has sent me things to promote Buell and asked nothing in return. Now that seems to me to be a stand up guy, and I for one consider him to be a friend. Now on the other hand, this website is invaluable and irreplaceable to me. I love coming here and reading about all kinds of things from adventures to tech help. Blake has made one of the best sites on the web, not just for Buellers. I appreciate what he has done and I don't want to even begin to think of not having a Badweb. Hopefully they can both come to some agreement and we can have both of them on here. But for people to come here and bust on Blake or Court for that matter is ridiculous. Last I heard Blake uses quite a bit of his own money to pay for this site. As he is the owner and does all the work...it is his choice and like it or not it is only his choice. Seems to me he follows his own rules to a "T" and there is no one who can fault him on that. Blake I for one hope you can work things out as I have read post and you and Court seemed to be good friends. But whatever happens I believe most people here support you. Larry |
