i have been looking for a blast for my girlfriend. we found a couple 2000 blast's for around $2000. is there any thing that we should look for? or should know before we get one. this will be her first bike. i think a blast would be perfect for her to learn on. thanks in advance for any help!

Gary - there is one recall that a friend had done to their Blast! Seems like it had something to do with the wheel or sprocket...... Of course, everyone is out riding and I can't remember what the affected part was. When they return, I'll ask them and have my husband (M2nc) post the details. I think you can have the vin number run on any Blast! you find to see what, if any, recalls have been done.

You may also want to read on the Thumper Thread, it's dedicated to the Blast!

I knew somebody here would know what I "thought" I was talking about!! I have just enough information to be dangerous.

Best of luck on your search. What part of OH is Piqua in? We moved to NC from Cincinnati and still have family there.

OK - this world is getting smaller and smaller as I type. We live in Grifton, it's between Greenville and Kinston. We are headed to Wilson right now for my son's 2 year pictures! Let us know if you're ever in the area.

The 2000s have a paper rocker box gasket. This will eventually start to leak and need to be updated to the metal gasket used in the 2003 and later models. It's not really a big deal, just something to keep in mind.
