well i'm happy to say after a few months with no job i might get to be the lone buell guy at Zylstra harley davidson and buell in ames iowa. sounds like i should hopefully start stuff later this week assuming the background check and everything goes through good. it sure better, lol.

apparently now though they do some kind of personality test you have to take also, not sure what thats going to consist of but guess i'll find out. should be fine i have plenty of personality's. lmao!

a friend of mine in parts is done as of friday so him and another friend said i should put in my app right away when for his job, plus they both put in good words for me so should workout fine.

now i can learn even more about buells and have a job in an atmosphere i should mostly enjoy atleast, but i will have to learn plenty about harleys too which isnt all that bad i guess

Tim,
If you get the job maybe you can show them how to sell a Buell. I stopped by there last spring for my daughter's graduation from ISU. Buell had the sling-bag program going on at the time and I had some time to kill.
My dad (a lifetime salesman) was with me so I mentioned to him the trouble we have getting an HD shop to push Buells. I was impressed that they had several XB models parked out front but I really wanted to see the City X model.
After tracking down a salesman and telling him I was interested in a Buell he said that there were some outside. I asked about a demo ride and he referred me to a younger guy that was their Buell guy.
I had to ask about the sling-bag even tho they had posters up. To make a long story short I had to beg for the bag, they didn't act interested at all in selling me a Buell even tho I asked about the City X. In fact the first guy to talk to me then tried to interest me in a V-Rod. I told him "no thanks".
As we were leaving my dad said "I bet they don't sell many Buells, do they?"

trust me i know what you mean. they already said that id end up being the guy everyone had to ask questions if they wanted to know about buells. fine by me i guess.

i am also fairly sure they had a city x in one of the buildings when u were there. they have a few that have been back there for awhile.

right now they have a both color uly's 2r's and one s outside. one s inside. no demo uly though... how is someone going to buy one if they arent allowed to try it? apperently some people have stopped and showed interest about them but u know how that goes when you cant get the info u need.

anyway, guess i will see what happens. hopefully i can get a few more buells running around here. just have to convince the sales guys to let them past long enough for me to get ahold of there ear for a bit!

NOOOO, dont deflect to the Dark Side!(dark dealer?)

Sorry, just have never been impressed with anything that has to deal with Zylstra. Buell or Harley, just seem to have an attitude, not only to customers but to other dealers too. Definately not very highly thought of by other dealers in the state.

But on the flip side, hope it goes well for you. 'Cuz thats what really matters.

Remember, if you get the job or not, and have ANY questions call me up. Knowledge is the key.

i know how they are thought of. believe me i have had plenty of problems trying to get parts through them over the years. tried ordering oil lines for my buell 4 times and have never seen them.

hopefully i will be better than that. i am going to try atleast. its a job and its around bikes, and buells! plus it starts at more than i was making at my last job.
