04 XB12S. Here in CT, temps are in the thirties and I am riding to work. It's amazing how few motorcycles I see. I will keep riding until there is ice on the road. How many others ride until freezing? (I wear Aerostich) Just wondering. |

I rode to work Monday and Tuesday. Popped my belt on the way home tuesday. New belt should arrive Tuesday from DaveS. I got one of those newfangled XB belts. I will probably see if I can get the old iron running tomorrow. I am trying to get it to accept a CV. |

would've rode this morning, but my brother picked me up. It was only in the 40's, though, so not too cold this morning. |

Mid to high 30's in the lat evening and early morning here in St. Louis. Still riding. Did I say how nice the First Gear HT overpants are? Covered the oil cooler on the Duc to get the temp up! The S2 is just plain cold natured for about 15 minutes and then it's purrin' like a champ! |

I'm still commuting in CT. Rode in yesterday in the 'stich. I ride year round as long as there isn't ice, although the wet leaves are pretty damn slick too. This will be my first winter with the Buell. last winter I had a Hayabusa, which was a great bike, before that I had an Aprilia Caponord, and that did NOT like the cold weather. Very long warm ups before it would stop stalling, and it needed to be on a Battery Tender every night to give the battery a chance of starting it. |

My X1 is running better than ever now that the temp is in the low 40s and down. I'm hoping the snow holds off till December so I can get some more riding in, it so hard to squeeze a dakota between cars on 490 Thinking about heated hand grips tho. I did the math this morning (17 highway miles @ 80)*(30 degree weather)+ (getting older) = Low functioning fingers.... My Son wants a T-shirt that says "When Hell Freezes over, I'll play Hockey there too". Maybe we need a Badweb T-shirt with a similar slogan for those that ride in the under 30 (degree) club. Would be nothing less than entertaining |

I work 3rd shift, and the coldest day I've ridden to work (more like commute; 52 miles in 1 hour) so far has been lower 40s at night and lower 30s in the morning. I had to scrape frost off my seat! |

We've had a great Fall so far. I've been riding most days but now that it is dropping into the 20's I'm driving more. I can handle 35 & above on my 22mi. freeway ride but it gets tough below that to keep the pinkies warm. Also the idiot car drivers that follow too close in deer season bother me too. The few other bikers I see commuting stop when it gets into the 40's. We kind of have a contest among the 2 Wing riders, a guy on an Ultra and myself as to who will ride the longest. The Wingers have half the distance, so they usually win. |

CV's can work great on an Iron bike, but they like lots of fuel! sometimes it can be a little difficult to get a CV to run rich enough for an old iron bike, but once you get the jetting right, it's a sweet setup. Those s+s carbs sure are adjustable, though. An adjustable rock with a hole in it. Make power, though! To keep on topic... commuting below 40 deg does kind of suck, esp on the freeway for long distance. I've rode plenty with frost on the ground near the road, I always find that just a little spooky, 'cuz black ice is downright scary stuff! |

29 degrees Friday morning and still riding. I have a 50 mile commute (one way) and layers, heated gloves and balaclava are good til it gets below 20 degrees then I add heated jacket and pants liners. I'll stop commuting on the bike when snow is sticking to the roads :-) Cheers |

Well, i wont be back until about January, but I expect to be riding when I get back... Besides, I only have about a 10 mile ride to work..not even long enough to let the bike warm up. Chase |

Riding to Daytona this afternoon to pick up some brake pads for my Bourget and to play some poker. It should be 78 F today and low 60's when I leave Daytona tonight around midnight. It might be hot here in the summer but it sure is nice now. Frank |

I ride every day. It was a chilly 83 degrees yesterday! It has been in the fifties at night though. No heated clothing needed here in Yuma! |

I'm still riding here in Eastern PA and I'll stop when the ice shows up...then any chance I get when the roads look safe. Wear a FirstGear Speed jacket and Overpants with an extra fleece shirt when it hits ~34°F. (Asked Santa for an electric vest...hope the wife comes thru) Bought my XB9S new this Feb and rode it home (56mi) in snow flurries. Dealer offered to deliver...the snow wasn't really sticking...Dunlop 207's are a traction tire aren't they??? But seriously...What are most of you running in the Buell as an alternative to the 20/50 H-D synthetic as the temps drop? |

I rode to work last week in 32°F weather. The only thing is I do not ride to work in the rain. I may ride home in the rain, but not to work. Around hear, I ride to work most days (75% of the time) ten months out of the year. During January and February I ride 25% of the time. I do not have any heated gear, but with the Uly's power outlets, that may change. For now I have First Gear Jacket and Pants with liners. Add a fleece pull over, winter gloves, and a lined and waterproof bandanna does the trick into the upper 20s. I am impressed how well the deflectors on the Uly help keep the hands warm. Wow, winter gloves with the wind off seam to do the trick for up to 50 miles in low thirties. |

"It's a dry heat" I actually am really surprised how well my XB does in 120 deg. I make sure and use good oil often though... I'll take my heat over ya'lls cold any day! |

Jethro- Go here http://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/ to find out a lot about oil. Look down the left column to lubrication, then 'all about oils'. I generally put a lighter weight in during the winter (don't tell Tramp) and the Mobile 1 fits those parameters. Hey, I was over in your kneck of the woods a couple of years ago. Stayed at E.Stroudsberg and took day rides. The last day we rode down to Pilly to see the Bell. Beautiful country you have over there. Do you recognize the birdge behind me on my profile? Mike |

I work 11 am to 11pm, so its usually OK for the ride in, considerably cooler on the way home. Its only 5 miles so its never too bad. The other night I detoured downtown. It was only the second night ride with my new helmet. Everytime I passed under a streetlight I noticed an "interesting" symmetrical pattern on the top of my visor. I wasn't sure if I was imagining it or if the pattern was growing. It finally dawned on me - yes, it was frost. Never surrender! |

The longer I can ride the S3T, the longer that 12MPG truck sits in the driveway. I've driven the truck 1 week total since the middle of March. Today may be the last day this week however. Snow is predicted. |

Iamike, Thanks for the link, that will keep me reading for a few days. Now if only I can understand it... Here's my best guess...the bridge is one of many off Rt 32 south of Easton...Frenchtown, Lambertville, New Hope??? The area between Philly and Easton is loaded with great roads and regretably Deer! Thanks, JB |
