Hello guys.

Is there any way to disable Auxiliary relay in ECM program so ECM will not give error code 47 when I remove AUX relay? Maybe through ECM Droid?

I'm modifying the wire harness on my 2009 Buell XB and relocating electrical components in the airbox. I eliminated the AUX relay and plugs to save space and because of I do not use it. But ECM will throw error code 47 and shows Check Engine Light with removed AUX relay.

If it is not possible to disable this relay in ECM program or modifying EEPROM file maybe there is another way to trick ECM?

Do you think it will work if I eliminate AUX relay and connect small LED in the AUX relay control circuit instead of the relay so ECM will think AUX circuit properly works?

I don't know if it can be done in ECMdroid, but I know you can disable error codes in Tunerpro/ECMspy on Windows.

Can it disable only one code 47 and allow another codes appear in case they exist?

ECM Drid also has EEPROM Editor. I can set parameters in cells manually. Do you know which cell I should adjust to disable Auxiliary relay or to disable error code 47?

OK, I found some info about AUX relay configuration on ECM Spy web site.

My ECM firmware is BUE2D.

Here is some info about Aux Power Relay Configuration

http://www.ecmspy.com/cgi-bin/detail.cgi?ecm=50&of fset=1442

Any ECM guru here? Can anyone please explain how do I shut the relay completely. I can edit EEPROM file tables in ECM Droid.

I also found you can set battery voltage when relay turns ON and turns OFF. So it looks like if I set let's say 120V voltage it will never attempt to turn the AUX relay ON and will never show error 47

http://www.ecmspy.com/cgi-bin/detail.cgi?ecm=50&of fset=1443

http://www.ecmspy.com/cgi-bin/detail.cgi?ecm=50&of fset=1444

But again I'm not sure how to set this parameter.

OK, I can go to EEPROM Editor in ECM Droid and edit cells value. I found cell 05a2 AUX Power Relay Configuration. You can see the parameter value on my screenshot. If I understand correct according the ECMspy website info there is only one value in this cell to enable AUX relay. So let's say I will put any different random value in that cell and then burn the edited EEPROM on my ECM - will it disable the AUX relay and popping error 47?

You also can see on my picture the cell 05a3 (Aux Power Relay On Battery Voltage) has value 7D in hex system - in decimals this value is 125 (https://www.rapidtables.com/convert/number/hex-to-decimal.html). I believe it means 12.5 Volts (even though according ECMSpy scale for this cell is 1, but it looks like scale is 0.1 http://www.ecmspy.com/cgi-bin/detail.cgi?ecm=50&offset=1443 )

The cell 05a4 (Aux Power Relay Off Battery Voltage) has value 73 in hex system - which is 115 in decimal - I believe this is 11.5 volts.

So let's say I set this AUX ON voltage to 20 Volts (200 in decimals and C8 in hex) and say set AUX OFF voltage to 19 Volts (190 in decimals and BE in hex system) - will it prevent AUX relay working and ECM throwing the error code 47?

Another theory is ECM throws code 47 when voltage between the Black/Green wire and ground drops below the Aux Power Relay Off Battery Voltage (which is set in cell 05a4). So if this is true I can set the voltage ON cell pretty high and voltage OFF cell to 0 volts so it should not turn AUX relay ON because of the system voltage will never reach more than 15 volts and should not throw code 47 since system voltage can not drop lower than 0.

Try asking Nick Pashley at UKBEG sometimes also Gunter, the ECM Spy original creator pops up there too.

Alright, good news! I found how to disable AUX relay and error 47.

You have to set both cells 05A3 and 05A4 value to 0 and burn it to ECM. No code 47 anymore!
